  1. I think that is a FANTASTIC idea!
  2. Wow! That is so neat! I hope I get to hear it today! Thanks for the good wishes! Have a great day! :)
  3. BTW, Congratulations!!! Do you get summer break now?
  4. Thank you both soooo much! I feel so stupid; I should have known ADA! I didn't know fetal heart tones could be monitored so early. That's neat. Again, thanks so much!
  5. I wonder if you nurses could help me with a couple of abbreviations, please. I just got my patient assignment today for clinical tomorrow (I'm a Freshman RN student). It's a 32 y/o pregnant woman (15 wks. gestation) who has Gastroparesis and Right Upper Extremity Thrombus. On the "Other Info," it says 1800 cal ADA diet, IV Heparin drip, and FHT checks. I looked in my Medical Terminolgy book for ADA and it wasn't listed, and it said FHT was Fetal Heart Tone. Is this what it would be in her case? And what is ADA? I sure would appreciate any help you all could offer.
  6. I used to be anal, but now I'm too tired. I just blow it off; I don't need anymore stress (I'm just finishing up freshman year of nursing).
  7. I must say, I agree with you, LPN2Be2004. At the same time, I agree with the men (MellowOne and Husband). MellowOne, I read your posts on this subject from the previous thread, and I don't think you're a chauvanist pig like some other women do. I'm very familiar with what the Bible says about marriage, and I agree with it and the things you posted about it. My husband and I fulfill each other's needs, and after 14 years, we're happier than ever. I believe that if a woman treats her husband like a king, he will in turn treat her like a queen, and vice versa. At least that's how it is in my marriage.
  8. Lacie, Yes, I'm married. Been married for 14 years. Marriage does get boring sometimes, but that's when you have to get creative and spice it up a little. Some people may consider my husband boring (and I'm an outgoing type personality), but you know what? He's rock solid; an excellent husband, father, and provider. You said your husband was a good father and provider; that's a quality that a lot of men don't have, Lacie. I count my blessings for a husband that I know he's going to be home every night, isn't going to cheat on me, and will always be there for me and my children. It sounds like you may have that, too. Try to remember what made you fall in love with him in the first place. I know you were just blowing off steam, but it also sounded like you were making mountains out of mole hills, especially over the photo album deal. When you post on this board, you're going to get a variety of responses, and not all of them are going to be what you want to hear. Good luck to you and your family, whatever the outcome.
  9. To put it bluntly, he sounds too good for you.
  10. We're not required to have health insurance. I don't understand why it would be a requirement.
  11. I vote for them being kicked out of the program. Anything less would send a message that cheating is somewhat tolerated. And as someone else said, if they get away with it, it could become a habit, and then later they could put patients in danger. Not good nurse material, if you ask me.
  12. :chuckle Are you my sister? BTW, why do we women "look tired and pale" without makeup, but guys don't? No fair! My favorite, longest lasting lip color is Endless, by Loreal. It stays on longer and doesn't cake at all. And since I have pale lips, I have tried almost all of them at one time or another. It's even better than the $20 stuff I used to buy from Lancome.
  13. You're right; that should send up a HUGE RED FLAG! The condition of her skin is NOT what I would be worrying about here! Can you get her in to see a child psychologist to find out why she doesn't want to talk about it?
  14. I wish I was one of those people who look great without makeup because I hate putting it on everyday. But I don't fix my hair; it's just below the shoulders and I usually pull it up. I've never been a "primper," but my twin sister wouldn't even consider walking out to the mailbox unless she looked perfect!
  15. Oh, my gosh, that is so spooky! Made my skin crawl reading it! If I were you, I'd get a different locker, far away from that one!
