You need to think hard and determine what your strengths and weakness' are. I felt really good about the content but I really struggled with test taking strategy. We also had ATI included in our nursing education and I felt it was a big waste of time in my opinion. I did research and many people have said that Kaplan's questions above par in difficulty in terms of the NCLEX-RN question similarity. Kaplan's content review is not that good from reviews. To counter that I purchased Saunders RN content review. I did not read this book cover to cover. I did 100-150 questions a day from Kaplan and whatever I had issues with in terms of recalling I did a brief review on that topic. I upped the questions to about 200 the last couple days before the test to get ready for possibly getting all 265. This test is a mental marathon and you have to train for it. I did about 2500 questions in 3 weeks and took Saturdays and Sundays off to rest, relax and enjoy with my family etc. Work/Study hard and play hard. Do not overwhelm yourself with a ton of content reviews. The two that I have selected is a pretty solid 1-2 punch. Have a plan and stick with it. Do not get off track and have confidence in your preparation and yourself and go rock that test!

Keep taking questions. 100 a day at minimum. I recently passed using Kaplan and whatever content I needed a quick refresher on when I got a question wrong I used Saunders to refresh. Don't get caught up in the numbers keep taking questions and review the rationale, right or wrong! I passed with 85 questions in one hour, NCLEX-RN. Good Luck on your interview! The place I have interviewed for (H.R. interview only) is a large reputable hospital in my area and their job descriptions are very vague for their online job postings. It's really hard to get a grasp at what they are exactly looking for. All I know it is a Scrub/Circulating nurse position, I found that out fully in the H.R. interview yesterday. I have been looking in that Periop101 course just to gain some education behind it just in case I find that I need some extra help on my own. I am not sure if they use that course or their own methods to teach periop. I really made every strive possible to get into the O.R. or Emergency Room clinical areas. Both of which I am very interested in. I still give a slight edge to the O.R. as I love the technicality, perfectionism, environment and overall duties that are to be done. I made sure that if it is something I wanted to pursue in my career and I hope this stands out to the employer that yes, this person has done his homework and wants to work in the O.R. He is a good investment for us. My preceptorship was in the E.R. Same hospital that I am hopefully interviewing for in the O.R. I learned a lot of things in my preceptorship, tons and tons of skill, delegation, prioritization and most important time management. I do not mind floor nursing/gen med as my first job out it's just that I have an opportunity to get into a specialty I truly want to excel at and hopefully make a life long career of, RNFA etc.

I have always been interested in the O.R. and have recently interviewed with H.R. about a Scrub/Circulator position. I am a new grad RN but I have amassed over 100 hours in Surgical Observation time both in school and on my own asking through job shadowing services. I am waiting for the actual surgical floor to contact me for an interview. In waiting is there anything specific I should study, learn or ask them questions about during the interview? Kaplan QTainers and QBank. Saunders was my content review for something I did not understand in a question from Kaplan. I did not do a complete content review as I feel that is absurd...I did it as I went thru nursing school. A quick refresh is what you need. I did about 100 questions a day and reviewed each rationale in detail. That is the key, the rationale. I then went in with confidence and didn't get anxious. Boom...85 and done. It was difficult. Kaplan kept me calm in answering the questions though. It seriously felt like a qbank or question trainer 8 exam. I had at least 25 sata.

I hear ya. That's where my downfall is. I have trouble with answering questions and that's why I went with Kaplan. So far I have done about 1800 questions with Kaplan and my eyes are bleeding. lol I hope it helps when I sit for boards this Thursday!
