  1. Is the post diploma nursing in ryerson university a good option for someone who has an MN degree and eligibility to take crne? I was also wondering about the certificate in gerontology, would they allow me 2 years to finish that program?
  2. i really want to continue a program that is related to nursing but if there is none, i would prefer anything about learning the fench language or take courses on photography. i checked on ryerson university about "french as 2nd language"/ FRE 101 but im quite confused with when is the deadline for the application. i also checked on the gerontological program in ryerson but they do them in distance learning. i would want to enrol on courses that are done in classrooms.
  3. what other certificate programs could you recommend?
  4. elo there. i know going to Canada as a nurse is hard nowadays. i have relatives in Toronto, Canada asking me to look for other ways. I already have an eligibility to sit for the CRNE. prob is i have a hard time going to Canada. i already finished my Masters in Nursing here in the Philippines. Im thinking of going there on student visa. my relatives are going to pay for all the fees. what program should i take? or would taking a french course help? pls enlighten me. thank you so much!
  5. right now, i need help in applying for employment in Toronto, Ontario... can anyone help me?
  6. finally, CNO granted me an eligibility to take the exam... for those who are planning to have your credentials assessed, i have sent all the necessary documents: certificate of trainings and seminars transcript of records syllabus and course description of my BSN and MN subjects i think the additional degree of being Masters in Nursing was the reason CNO granted me eligibility
  7. i am crossing my fingers right now coz i am about to finish my masters hopefully this march. i just lodged my application plus all necessary documents (e.g. course description nd syllabus) and seminars attended. hoping to get a thumbs up from them. thanks for the information :D
  8. thank you so much! i just hope they'll be able to issue a certificate before May coz my IELTS expires by then... about the visa...is the immigrant visa the most suitable for nurses?or the H1b? coz right now, i still dont have an employer and im just applying for VSC for the sake of my IELTS

  10. elo im currently done with my classes in masters...im working on my last step which is the "case study/non thesis paperworks"... i haven't sent my kit back to ontario... i asked for a course description from my school to add with my TOR to be sent back to CNO has anyone here given a thumbs up after sending their kit? or does everyone have to answer the equivalency table to get their thumbs up?
  11. CNO assesses individuals differently but... I would just like to ask... Did CNO state which areas usually Filipinos lack in terms of the BScN program here in the Philippines compared to BScn in Canada? Id like to know, though it's just on your own experience...
  12. Can anyone here share something about the nursing equivalency table? What's under it or something? Thank you
  13. where did you find the baccalaureate equivalency table? could you enlighten me about this.. i dont know anything about that kase.
  14. About the IELTS, if they are done with my application... like I already have an eligibility to take and I want to take it on Oct2010, do I have to take my IELTS again since it already expired as of May2010?
  15. Thank you for replying to my post. About the equivalency of Filipino BScN and Canadian BScN, is there anyone you know who did not have to take a bridging program? How about having Masteral units or Masters Degree in the Philippines, would it help in any way? I'd like to know about the link wherein I can find articles about the change since 2005? Is it true that ALL those who wants to work in Ontario has to study their bridging program?
  16. I just read the posts from this thread... I'm quite worried because my IELTS is going to be expired by May2010. Im planning to lodge my documents on December to CNO. Would I be able to make it? or would I have to take my IELTS again. How many times does the IELTS result be needed other than the registration for CNO?
  17. Thank you! I would definitely do that
  18. Good day to everyone! I would just like to ask, Im a fresh graduate with no experience (unless you can count volunteer as experience which is 6 months). Im planning to apply for Ontario Canada for their examination. Do I need to study there again so I could work as a Registered Nurse or is it possible that once i pass the exam, Id be able to work there as a Registered Nurse? About the visa processing, do i need to have a job here in the Philippines so I could be able to get a visa to take the examination? What are the odds that a visa officer would not give a visa for someone to take the examination? Thank you so much for the help!
  19. elo.. is there anyone here who experienced that their documents were sent back to the sender from QNC? and what are the instances that this happens?
  20. CONGRATULATIONS joeturtle! So proud of you!!!
  21. yes, they have saturday classes but it would really depend on the availability of the subject you are taking... in a semester, you only have to attend one subject per week around 2 hours each and the maxmimum units you could take is 12... while if you attend during summer, you can take subjects everyday for a month (2-3hours) or every Saturday(or Sunday) for whole day (8-12hours)... it actually really depends on the availability of subjects... before, i was able to complete the classes for a year coz i was doing it full time and the subjects did not overlap...
  22. elo there! im taking up masters in CNU. completed my classes in just a year. MSN was called MAN last 2007 but they changed it to MSN last year. that's what i knew. :) some information you'd wanna know... MN - you pass 3 titles about using a specific nursing theory to a patient with a specific disease process. then the dean of nursing will choose one for you to go on a formal case study. once you have the title already, you go on duty for specific number of hours and work on the case study. end work: case study MSN - you pass 3 thesis proposals...same thing, the dean would have to approve a title...this time, research work. you may do a quantitative or qualitative research. end work: thesis *** during the making of this required paper work, you'll be given an adviser*** if you have plans in taking up further studies (e.g. doctorate), MN graduates needs to attend additional classes while MSN graduates can directly do so.
