  1. True. Well I'm excited about starting the Phlebotomy Program in the spring. I can finally start getting some Hands on experience!
  2. Butterfly, I think that is sooo wonderful! I'm very happy to hear about all of your experiences and it makes me want this even more! I love reading all of your posts about Nursing school! I wish you the best of luck and I know you will be a GREAT Nurse.
  3. Hey FSU! SEE I told ya not to worry! LoL Are you excited? I have not heard anything from MDC..I called earlier today and was able to find out that I got into their Phlebotomy Progrm for the Spring of 09-So that's pretty cool, I can get some hands on experience with patients while I wait to hopefully start Nursing School with Dade in the Fall of 09'... I'm not sure if letters are still going out but I figured I probably didnt get in for the spring since I have yet to get anything in the mail.
  4. Thanks...I'm trying to be. I'm waiting to see if I was atleast accepted into the phlebotomy progrm with MDC LoL ---> no letter there either. How is nursing school going for you?
  5. Still NO letter...Once again, I didn't get accepted. *Sighs*
  6. Hey Conrats on getting ACCEPTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Thats awesome dude! Well I wish you the best of luck and YOU gotta let me know when you get your acceptance letter!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Breathe, I think you will be just fine! You have a 3.5 and that's usually the knock off point for most students to get into their program. And if you don't get in then you apply again for the Fall term. Waiting sucks and I may just go into MDC tmrw and see what I can get out of the advisors haha. And what made you decide to go into Nursing after graduating?
  9. I could be extremely wrong, so don't quote me on it. LoL Everything I call, they seem to know nothing. I figured I would just wait for the LETTER...I'll probably go in to the Medical campus and ask to speak with an advisor and see what they tell me. Have you heard anything yet? Oh man, I also applied to the Phlebotomy Program as a last resort...I would be super depressed if I didn't get into that one either LoL
  10. Dude, I think that kinda means you're pretty much in the program. I have not heard of anyone who gets invited to the info session and not get accepted into MDC's program! I may be wrong, I honestly think that you're pretty much IN! ) So, that means letters should start going out soon...
  11. was working on the BSN track and getting ready to apply to Nursing Program at FSU when I decided I needed to take a break from school lol--dumb move on my part. What did you study? Did you get an invite to the info session for MDC?
  12. And if they only looked at classes that ones taken at MDC, then I'd have a 4.0, but considering the fact that 60 of my credits were taken at an upper level university...well what the hell...guess that doesn't really mean much to them lol I'm sounding bitter now!
  13. I have no clue what they look at ANYMORE. lol I wish I would have just applied TO a BSN program...But everything happens for a reason. They're kinda silly with how they make their selection, and some of the students who are accepted, in all honesty, I feel don't deserve to be there. I have not received a letter regarding the information session, have you?
  14. HEY FSU! My AA gpa is a 3.4, overall cum -->3.26; sucks BUTT! After this semester, it will be a 3.5. Messed up at FSU my last semester and now retaking that class--ugh! And I think you DEFINITELY have an chance for the spring term, you have a great GPA! I'm not expecting to get accepted in the spring, but if I do we should consider becoming study BUDDIES, I hear the Nursing Program keeps you crazy busy lol
  15. haha I definitely MISS FSU alot! I have not heard from MDC....the wait sucks! I'm really hoping to finally get into their program but I'm kinda expecting the rejection letter. This is actually kinda silly but I actually also applied for the Phlebotomy Program as a back up so I can start getting hands on experience, just incase I have to apply again for the fall term of 2009--eeeek! Whats your GPA, if you don't mind me asking.
  16. Hey FSUmiamiboy! I wanted to wish you LUCK! I did my AA @ fsu! What did you study there?
  17. Hey KAD24, thanks for the reply! It's nice to finally meet someone I can relate to with my situation -- Grr LoL I actually havent applied to any other schools... Cost of attendance @ MDC is extremely CHEAP and it's near me... Kinda a silly reason why I'm persistant about trying to get into their program but I figured what the hell. And yes I did apply for the fall term and totally got my rejection letter :icon_roll kind of embarassing actually-- Don't give up and we should definitely keep each other posted! I wish you the best of luck and who knows, we may even be classmates in the spring! By any chance, do you happen to know when letters will be going out?
  18. ugh- Where shall I begin... BLAH- didn't get accepted into MDC's Nursing Program first time around. Application is in for the spring. This application round Ive completed all pre-reqs and co-reqs Have my A.A -- 71 credits hrs 3.45 gpa Science gpa 3.57 Overall cum 3.26 (retaking a 4 credit hr class; it will definitely put it in the 3.5 avg after this fall term) A bit confused because i'm not exactly sure whether acceptance will be based on my A.A gpa or my cum gpa? Does having the A.A even help any? Some-1, anyONE please give me a glimpse of hope>??? AnyONE else on the same BOAT here?
  19. hey! Question- How competitive is MDC RN prgrm for spring term? I applied with a 3.26 cum gpa- science 3.56 and i have my associates degree- I'm done with my pre-reqs and I will be finished with all co-reqs this fall. What are my chances?
  20. Applying to my local Community College Here in Miami, fl My overall CUM GPA = 3.26 (retaking Italian -4 credits- and it will definitely increase my GPA to atleast a 3.4), Science GPA= 3.6 AA DEGREE-3.4 from Florida State University I made poor choices sophomore yr of my undergrad Schools' deadline= September 1st Acceptance letters should be out by Oct./Nov. My plans A, B and C are to: A. Continue my undergrad degree in Biology/Premed at Barry/UM in the spring (currently awaiting for my acceptance letters) B. If I do not recieve enough financial aid to pay for my tuition for Barry/UM then I plan to enter the Phlebotomy Prgrm (a semester long; to gain experience and patient contact) C. If I'm not accepted into the phlebotomy prgrm then I guess i'm royally SCREWED?
  21. I just wanted to vent a little...Although I am happy for those of you who will be attending MDC, i'm also feeling a bit of jealousy... I know it isn't right of me to feel this way, but I applied to MDC for the fall of 08 and I know I didn't get accepted because of my GPA:( I guess what I'm saying is I wish I could be feeling the same excitement as you all are feeling...Anyways, I truly do wish everyone the best of luck in the program.
  22. Thanks...Realistically I know I wont get accepted into the program for the fall of 08' I applied with a 3.17 Cum GPA--doing summer school now and I'm expecting it to go up to atleast a 3.4 once i'm done, but that probably won't cut it....I think I may end up at Barry After all- *Sighs* Best of Luck to EVERYONE!
  23. No email and no scholarship invite...... I feel really sick to my stomach now....... ugh
  24. Hum Anatomy & Physiology II w/lab (12 weeks) Chem Lab (first 6 weeks) Fund of speech (first 6 weeks) italian (second 6 weeks) All while working full time :zzzzz
  25. Hi! You're soooo LUCKY! I probably wont be able to start the program until Jan of 2009! But any HOW, I wish you the best of luck in the program!
