Im not sure if all BON'S do this, but my BON has a link on their web site that lists different certifications for nurses and where to get them. Maybe you could check on your BON web site, if you haven't already.

Unemployed and CEU'S
I am from Arkansas, and have been unemployed since December 2008 due to an illness. I am currently looking to go back to work as a nurse(LPN) but have had no luck, thusfar, finding anyone to hire me. My quesion is, I know your CEU'S have to be based on what field of nursing you are in, but what if you are unemployed? Can I just do any type of CEU'S? I have looked on my BON web site with no luck.

Mandatory Flu shots
I was diagnosed with Guillian Barre Syndrome in December and I think they have underestimated the cases of Guillian Barre per 100,000. I went to many Doctors plus physical therapy and even in public I would come across a curious person who wanted to know what was wrong with me. When we would tell them some of them knew someone that had GBS. Im not sure what caused my case, but I had a flu shot(which I had gotton every year for many years even before I became a nurse) I had different vaccines (due to being a student then for being in the health field) and I had a virus shortly before my GBS. So I do not know if it was the flu shot or the other factors, but I will not be getting a flu shot this year.

? ...What's HealthSouth like to work in??
I have not worked there, but I had 4 mos of therapy at Healthsouth early this year. Everyone seemed to be very friendly, and in a good mood. Pleasant atmosphere.

What Are you thankful for this Easter?
I have been dealing with GBS for the last four months. Up untill the last 3 weeks I could not not feed myself, dress myself, shower myself, could not even walk by myself. I am thankful for having my husband and my mother to take care of me during this horrible time and I am thankful I am almost fully recovered. I am starting to drive now and should be back to work soon. I truly have alot to be thankful for.

MRSA - hospital stay ?
I am confused myself. One of my moms employees has MRSA so she called me for information. I am a new nurse who has not worked since December due to Guillian Barre Syndrome, so I got on the web and went through my school books to find information about it, but there is not much there. It tells a little bit about it but I am still confused. I just told her to bleach everything and get the other employees hand sanitizer. As for letting her come back to work, I told her to make the employee get a note from her Dr saying it was ok. I dont know what else to tell her.

Lpn to Rn
I am an Lpn and I was considering the Lpn-Rn transition, but I don't know where to start. How could I find out more information on this, like how long it will take. I have only worked as an Lpn since July, is there a certain time frame to work as an Lpn before you can transition? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

new discouraged LPN
Can you tell me why you hated the clinic jobs, besides the fact that they were overstaffed. I have been working as a nurse for about three weeks and I, like you, hate my job. I was thinking about going to a clinic. It will be a big pay cut but I am tired of being miserable at my present job.

Uterus transplants?
To the people who are against this, I bet you would have a different view if you were unable to have children.
