LPN should not be phased out! The BACK,WHITE,YELLOW,RED,ORANGE or Green ones. Let's keep them all and see if we can have a conversation without involving race. Who takes the most smoke breaks on you job? The Nurses or the CNA 's. The Nurses are worst on mine. NO cry babies allowed!

If he can call him self black, I can too! The point is If you study hard the sky is the limit. It does not matter what other people think of you. Knowledge is power. They have to RESPECT that.

I like Shell Point. The is pay ok, but benefits are good. Are you an LPN or RN? The rate for PRN RN is $23 for days and $26 for nights. For LPN $20 days and $23 for nights. Their is an assisted living facility next to Health Park Hospital (another Lee Memorial Hospital) I think it is call The Cove. I heard they pay well, or you can always try places in Naples.

I'm not sure when the season start for Lee Memorial but the nurses are not getting any hours now. I work @ Shell Point and our PRN staff is really getting upset because the hospital nurses are getting most of the hours now. Because they are willing to work any floor/shift.

My facility is the same way. You and I are in the same area lpnflorida.

Where I live you don't have a choice. You are on A team or B team, and some time C. A team is preparing for the storm sometime staying during the storm. B is relief after the storm is over. C might be to help get the patients back settled in and clean up. I always choose B team.

LTC does make more money. I work in LTC in the Fort Myers area.

I do not expect for YOUR tax dollars to pay my mortgage, nor did I expect to take everything MY husband and I worked for and place it into a BASIC family home. Only to have the value flushed down the toilet, and owe more than the home is worth now. That is not my fought. You are possibility the only person in America who own a home and it has held it's value. GOOD FOR YOU. THE REST OF US FULL TIME WORKERS,STUDENTS,and PARENTS can use a little help. And I don't care where it comes from! You sound like the finance companies. What are all these home owners supposed to down size to? HOMELESS!

WOW I wish all you nice PATIENT nurses could go through what I have/ am going through now. I should have used another word other than stupid. This nurse has been on her own for almost a month now.Their are nurses who has called other nurses worst names than stupid.

linda9681 THANK YOU! For your words of wisdom. earle 58 you are right stupid is a strong word. And I have to agree because of the way you said it. God doesn't see her as stupid. I know that I am not the only one on this site that have ever felt this way, But open confession is good for the soul even when it is followed by rebuking.:trc:

LOL I'm in Florida. And if you were to even touch a IV in FL and someone reported you to the FBON you will not be able to site boards. You will be fined for practicing with a license. Fl is one of the strictest states about every little thing. I don't know why that is, but we had to go to a board hearing when I was in school. That was one of the scariest things I had ever seen NO compassion what so ever.

Hello Tolerant Girl, Sorry for your lost. We will pray for your strength. I start school on the 26 and just lost my uncle that was my dad only brother he is having a hard time. I think this is a good support site.

LOL When the ER call and say we found two Oxycodone in your pt bra.

She is very nervous with everything she does. But when we try to let her do thing on her own she feels we are not willing to help. She is from Calf. she says they had very little clinicls of course I don't know that because we are not in that state now. But I'm going to try realllllllllllly hard to stay patient with her. Their are only 2 IV cert nurses on our unit, and we work opposite days. That's not a big deal the big deal is as nurses their are simple things we should know that she just can't get. no one should have to call the supv 4x in 15 min. for stupid stuff. We all have weak and strong points. She said she was really smart in school. I have to study really hard.

We work together on our units it does not matter if you are an LPN or RN. If you know how to do something.We do not run to our DON for every thing. Their is a unit mang. on the floor. She tell us to help the new nurses. Most of the RN's in our building are not even IV cert. because they came from other state were it was not apart of the program. So that means if the lab has already come we the LPN has to draw the blood. I'm an RN student now and I pray that I don't be STUCK on those letters like can't nobody tell me anything because I see that is how some RN feel.

I am very respectful of my all of my co-workers. This lady is 50 years old and do not like it when you tell her how to do anything. If she is doing it wrong she would rather you just do it the right way,and she is not ashame to say I do not have time for all that. Just do and I will learn later because I don't want to stay late tonight. I feel that I am being very patient with her. This is not her first nursing job. She left the hospital because she said the nurses were too mean. I wonder why. The lady was in orientation for almost 2 months we work in long term care. Come on their comes a time when you need to say I just can not do this!
