I saw the same thing happen in my nursing program during the first week of classes - not with myself but with a fellow student. Apparently one of the instructors told my classmate that she won't make it in nursing because she isn't "nursing material". SAME EXACT WORDS were used. I'm not sure what made the instructor tell her that, especially since we hadn't been in class long enough for her to make that type of judgment call, but my classmate was distraught and dropped out of the program. The instructor should have handled it differently. Who's to say? If given a chance my classmate might have been a wonderful nurse.

I agree! I'm interested in trying Suzanne's method, too. I'm currently finishing up the Saunders NCLEX Review book, taking the quizzes at the end of each chapter and scoring at least 75% on each. I believe this is the FIRST step you must complete before requesting Suzanne's help. So far I have read nothing but GREAT reviews of her plan and am excited to see if it'll work for me.

I live in MI and as a graduate nurse am starting out at $25.50/hr plus an additional 8% shift differential for working midnights. I know there is also a shift differential for weekends, but I'm not sure what it is...

Hi there...I just completed an accelerated BSN program. It took one year - well, if you count the 4 months of prereqs (Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, and Nutrition) then it was actually 16 months. Anyhow, the program was great but VERY stressful. We didn't get much time off, either. But the sacrifice is so very worth it!! I'm more than happy to answer any questions you have...or to tell you more about my experience. Just let me know

Congratulations on passing and thanks for the info! I haven't taken NCLEX yet (am in the process of preparing for it) and I am a nervous wreck! Many of my classmates have already taken the exam and passed. Each one of them said they felt horrible after the exam, saying they were "sure" they had failed - but come to find out they hadn't. Seems like we all have that awful fear of failure. It's hard to stay positive sometimes, isn't it?!

I keep thinking about taking the Kaplan review...but I've heard so many different things about it. Some say it's worth the money, some say it isn't. But so far, all of the people I went to school with who also took the Kaplan's course have passed! Did you ONLY use Kaplan material to prepare for NCLEX? What did you find helped you most to prepare?

Like many, I am freaking out about taking the NCLEX. I'm having trouble sleeping, and I find myself waking up in the middle of the night thinking about NCLEX questions I had read earlier. In the day time when I try to study, I have trouble focusing - probably due to lack of sleep and extreme ANXIETY. I'm going to try this tapping method to reduce my anxiety and see if it'll help calm me down so that I can AT LEAST focus on studying. Let's hope it works!!
