  1. I have a 3 bedroom apartment in the gun hill area of the Bronx if anyone's interested
  2. You won't hear anything from this school until November at the earliest
  3. It does depend on the area as has been said. You'll find schools under 50K as well as those over 100K. It's a decision you'll have to weigh with your options but all in all I think it's an investment that's worth the sacrifice.
  4. Yeah, they told me that they're wrapping up the review process and should be notifying people by this week, probably next as well.
  5. When did you guys applied
  6. I just submitted my application in Jan for the last deadline and still waiting for a response.
  7. Hey, congrats on the acceptance. When did you interview and how were you notified (mail/phone/email)?
  8. A friend of mine recommended Manhattan prep GRE books.
  9. They sent me an email for clarification as well but no interview invitation yet.
  10. Hello, just wondering if anyone applied for the 2016 class at University of Detroit Mercy and if they've sent out any interview letters.
  11. I applied as well, haven't been updated on status either. The wait is a killer!
  12. I experienced their ED and really didn't like it for many reasons. Do your research ahead and ask those that work on the unit questions before diving in.
  13. Ever considered something like a level 1 trauma ER or flight nursing? Seems you're an adrenaline junkie and that should be a good fit!
  14. I just recently took and passed the CCRN and the CEN within a month. I had trouble with CEN even though i work in the ER. The questions are not as specific as the CCRN. I used the Gasparis DVD (watched twice and took notes) and the Pass CCRN questions (must've done close to 1000 questions). You can do it. Good luck.

  16. Hi guys, I'm late to the party. I'm in week 4 of this class and can't wait to put the whole class behind me. I've been doing okay till now but it looks like week 4 and 5 will be much more challenging. I know a lot of you have passed this class so any tips will help greatly. My email is [email protected].
  17. MBrickle my email is [email protected] would you be so kind to email me any assistance in your possession? Thanks.
  18. i work in the ER and my dad worked in psych but he's retired now. I have 2 sisters that are nurses as well i became a nurse for my own personal reasons though
  19. just to make myself clear..the question is a hypothetical one for those guys that are single cuz i think some people misconstrue what i meant by it
  20. In my opinion, being a male nurse here is the same as being a female nurse in that the job responsibilities are the same. To be a nurse here, you would have contact the board of nursing in the state where you would like to take the Nclex-RN exam to obtain your license. Salary depends on several factors such as your degree, the state where you live etc. You can find review books (eg saunders comprensive review book) on amazon.com or on ebay.
  21. In nursing school, I was the only guy with braids although there were others with dreadlocks..my instructors didnt have any problem with it..I didnt have any problem getting hired for my summer externship either so i dont think it would be a problem when i go for a real interview. I've seen male nurses with long hair in the hospital so i dont think this is a big issue although i realize that some employers would rather hire someone with short hair.
  22. just curious to know if it would be a problem for a male nurse to marry a doctor..I personally wouldn't have a problem with it..voice your opinion
  23. cgun101 replied to nrsman1's topic in Men in Nursing
I didn't like my OB clinicals when i was in school mainly because as a male nursing student, we couldnt practice independently unless we are accompanied by a fellow female student or RN or professor so I felt like i was wasting my time there.
  24. it may be true that u need 50% to pass but i think it depends on how u get that 50%. I was told the test is graded on a bar; if ur above the bar when the test ends u pass and if ur below the bar, u fail. Each question u get correct puts u a step above the bar and each one u get wrong takes u a step down. So my advise would be to do ur best on at least the first 10 questions so u'll have some cushion. The more questions u get correct back to back, the better ur chances
  25. i graduated in december, took the exam feb 12 and passed. waiting for the result drove me insane though..good luck to you all
