Starting nursing school with an infant
I don't think I will be much help, but I am 4 weeks into my 3rd semester and 31 weeks pregnant. It has been very hard for me and I am sure it will be even harder going back in October after having six month at home with my baby but I know this is my dream and will be worth it in the end and that alone is enough to get my through this. Good luck!

Let's hear your school uniform stories!
I am pregnant and the uniforms I first bought do not fit anymore but at the beginning of each semester my school has a used uniform sale, 20 bucks for a top and pants! So thats what I did but if that wasn't an option I would have just bought regular white scrub pants and hoped my instructor didn't notice!

Would it be the right time thinking of baby?
I am pregnant and just finishing my second semester out of 4. My husband and I didn't plan this but are very excited for our little girl's arrival. I have been very lucky with few pregnancy symptoms but it hasn't been easy either. I am so exhausted, especially after clinicals that I come home and crash. It can be done but I would wait.

How long is your school day?
We pick our clinical day, mine happens to be Mondays from 6:30am-7pm and lecture on Wednesdays from 730-11am. We also go on Sundays to pick our patients and make our careplans, but we can do that whenever we want on Sunday.

Need Help Wife is about to give up
For some people taping the lecture helps so they can fill in any missing pieces of the notes later. Do you know if her teacher allows for her lectures to be recorded?

Possible causes of low H&H?
Well, I will give it a shot! The body needs a few days to reproduce RBC, and if there are not enough of those then the Hct and Hgb will both be low causing anemia. The patient may have had a bleed before the surgery which would have also decreased the number and there is always blood loss during surgery which would also cause those numbers to be low. 17 days post op does seem like a long time but that would probably be what I would have put on my labs as a possible cause. With diabetes, there can be impaired circulation and altered carbohydrate metabolism slowing the healing of wounds. Is this what you were asking? A lot of times I just google exactly what I am looking for to try to understand whatever it is I am looking up.

So. Californians please help: Having a meltdown trying find a school!
Yeah, with Saddleback as long as you get an A in physiology, microbiology, anatomy and english 1A you should be guaranteed a spot. As Asherah said, you get more points for taking the classes at saddleback and for having a higher GPA. If I remember correctly, they only look at the most recent 12 units completed for your GPA so it would be really easy to get that 4.0 Good luck!

Pregnant and not motivated!!
Thank you, you are right, we both can do this! I just kept telling myself that last night while I was trying to study.

Pregnant and not motivated!!
Thank you everyone for your reply! I am almost 8 weeks now and haven't had any morning sickness, so I assume I am not going to have that to deal with! I am napping just about everyday and going to bed early but I am worried for Monday, its our first official 12 hour day in the hospital. I am also learning that I can not study at home because I will fall asleep which is good to know. I also have 3 autoimmune diseases and am considered high risk so I have already been to the dr twice and go back again in 2 weeks. She told me to just listen to my body. I am also trying to eat lots of protein which seems to help. Thank you again, I can do this. I have heard this tiredness will go away after the 12th week which is not that far away.

Pregnant and not motivated!!
Hey everyone, I hope school is going well for you!! I started my second semester (of a 4 semester program) last week and I can't seem to get motivated to study. With my first semester all I did was study and I actually enjoyed it. I was surprised to find out I was pregnant last month and am finding myself so tired I don't want to do anything! I just need advice to get me motivated, I need to kick this to the curb before I get any deeper in the semester. Thanks for listening!

How many people who start NS finish?
In my program for the Spring Semester we started with 60 and have only lost 2!

Underwear and white scrubs?
I am just curious how the type of undergarments worn can be called unprofessional? I don't understand how schools can even have the right to check undergarments. I wear a nude colored thong from victoria secrets with my white scrubs because that is what I am comfortable in. My school doesn't check and my shirt falls low enough on my backside that you couldn't even tell if I were wearing colored panties.
-
100% dosage calculations?
My school must be generous, we have to get an 80% and we have two tries to pass.
-
Age you will/were graduated?
If all goes well I will graduate with my RN right after my 25th birthday.
