  1. Some days I do!
  2. Isn't there a saying, something about crapping where you eat. Maybe after graduation, but not before. Allen
  3. throwing pots, church, cooking, snorkling.
  4. At the ltc that I worked at I noticed that the deaths usually came in sets of three.
  5. When I first started to work at a ltc, I worked the noc shift. Every once in a while, a resident would ask "who is that tall chinese man over there" or make some remark about the chinese man. Well when I finally mentioned it to the day shift they told me that about a month before I started working there, a very tall, chinese, male resident had passed away. I never saw him but would get the chills when ever some one would mention him>
  6. Thanks Penny, I didn't think that they did, but was not sure. My mom used to wear hers, but stopped wearing it when I was 12-13 yo ( I'm 40 now). I have only seen one nurse wearing a cap in the last few years, and it was one of my ex-wifes nursing instructors. At my nursing school, they have the graduating class pictures from 1972 to the present and I think that only the first 6 or 7 photos show the students wearing caps. Allen
  7. I'm curious, did the male nurses have caps to wear?

Nik, You're welcome, I'm also "multimodal". There are some good hints on each of the Modes that I have incorporated into my study habits. So far they seem to be helping. I hope they are able to help you. Allen

If being a Nurse is what you dream of then don't quit! Everybody learns in a different way, you just need to find yours. In the first week of Nursing school, they had us go to www.vark-learn.com/english/index.asp and fill out the questionnaire. When finished with the questionnaire, the web site gives you a score in four learning styles; Visual, Aural, Read/Write, and Kinesthitic. Depending on what your learning style (or combination of styles) is, there are different study strategies. Quite a few of my classmates found that they were studying wrong for there learning styles and when they changed their study strategies to fit their learning styles, their comprehension and their grades went up. I don't know if this will help you, but who knows it might. Allen

  11. I just finished the first term of Nursing school, and I can't imagine having to learn my CNA skills on top of everything else I had to learn. Just think, a 10 week CNA course on top of an already packed first term of Nursing! There were several students in my class that did not have their CNA and they all struggled to catch up to the rest of us.
  12. Well I think I made the right career choice, only a few of these made my stomach flutter. And I enjoyed snacking while I was reading. In 6 years of LTC, I have experienced the finger licking finger painters, chocoholics, projectile vomiting. So far I haven't incountered anything that gave me the oogies.
