  1. I'm not a RRT but I think it's great that your going to nursing school. You have a very valuable skill set that should definitely help you in nursing!
  2. I know this thread is a few months old but which Regional Heart Unit did you have a bad experience with? Were you unhappy with the ICU or the progressive care unit? My friend is considering Muhlenberg Regional Heart.
  3. Hi MsBridgeMack, There are many rental places in Quakertown (Bucks County)which is very close to DeSales (just South on route 309). I would also look in Hellertown and/or Bethlehem (Northampton County) which are also close to the DeSales campus.
  4. I'm also curious about other nurses experience in any PA state hospitals. I have been looking at Norristown and Allentown State hospitals but haven't found much info. about either. I would like to know more about the work environment and safety issues.
  5. "I just happened upon the Mansfield University online MSN in Nursing Education. Anyone know of them? I had never even heard of that school." I graduated from Mansfield with my BS (non-nursing degree) back in 1995. It's a small rural state college in Tioga County Pa. They had a good BSN program when I went there. I had a very positive experience at Mansfield but I don't know any details about their online MSN program.
  6. I've heard it's a good program with tons of hands on clinical experience. Unlike NCC where you have summers off at St. Luke's you continue with school through the summers. Although it's expensive I believe they do tuition forgiveness for all or part of the cost if you agree to work for them. I also heard you are guaranteed a job with the hospital if you complete the program. All of this info is what I have been told (I'm a student at NCC).
  7. About how long does it take most people to complete their BSN online?
  8. I believe every nursing unit should have a copy of the hospital diet manual. It should have all the hospital approved diets and the info about those diets listed. There also must be a nutritional analysis done for all the meals being served. It's a JACHO thing. If you can't find it just ask the dietitian.
  9. Thanks for responding! I'm glad to hear it's a great program and that its fair. I look forward to hearing more about your experience!
  10. Does anyone have thoughts about the NCC RN program? If there is anyone who is currently a student there or who graduated from this program I would really appreciate you sharing what your experience there was like! Thanks
