Is CRNA education possible over age 50?
One of my dad's friends was 52 when he started anesthesia school, so go for it!

Dissapointed in Wolford College
I am currently attending The Gooding Institute of Nurse Anesthesia in Panama City, Fl, and I have heard nothing but good things about Wolford College. I knew a couple CRNA's that went there and they both seemed happy with their education. My father is a CRNA and has been for 30 years, and he has been impressed by Wolford College graduates. The way I see it is that there is BS in every college, it is what you do with it that matters. Make lemonade out of lemons. It all has to do with your ATTITUDE.

Can you work PT
I'm in anesthesia school right now and I have four kids and I am the soul bread winner also. I am just taking out enough loans to make us comfortable. We really don't live much different than we did before. You have to keep in mind that you are going to be making about 3-4 times more than you are making now when you get out. Don't kill yourself in school. Do what it takes to make good grades and finish. Sincerely I guess I could work now, but why? When I start my 3 days a week clinical next semester there will be no way to work. Then for the next 5 semesters we will be in clinical 5 days a week, so I would say just don't kill yourself. Do good in school. Good luck.

oh no !!!! what now?
I'm from Louisiana also and I am attending anesthesia school in Panama City, Fl. I think he should be able to apply here. The name of the school is Gooding Institute of Nurse Anesthesia.

What do I need to get ready
I'm living in Panama City right now. I'm going to The Gooding Institute of Nurse Anesthesia. I'm from South Louisiana and there is a BSN program there in Thibodaux at Nicholls State University.

How old is everyone?
One of my dad's friends started anesthesia school when he was 52, so I say that you are never too old. Go for it!

Acls?
You can get your ACLS certification through and outside company. It doesn't have to have anything to do with the hospital. Just google ACLS certification and you will most probably find someone in your area teaching a class.

What do I need to get ready
You're doing the right thing. Just take your time. Make good grades, and don't let anyone get in your way. You know what you want to do, so go out there and do it. You have the right idea. I still say that you should just get your BSN instead of your ADN. Hopefully I'll see you in the OR some day.

What do I need to get ready
I got my ADN first and then got my BSN, and if I had it all to do over again I would just go straight through and get my BSN. Although you might have perfectly legit reasons for doing what you are doing. I'm just telling you what I wish I would have done. I would probably be done with anesthesia school by now instead of just starting.

I need some motivation!!!
If it's easy for you to make A's then make A's. The higher your GPA when you apply to anesthesia school the better. Why are you in a ADN program? You are gonna need your Bachelor's degree to get in anyway.
-
What do I need to get ready
Do you already have your Bachelor's Degree?
-
Should I apply?
Go for it. You have everything you need. If you don't have ACLS, PALS, BLS you can get that before classes start. You probably won't need CCRN with the rest of your stats. Like I said. Go for it!

Hello
I would say go to the anesthesia department in the hospital where you work and tell them that you are interested in anesthesia and would like to shadow a CRNA and I can't imagine that any one of them would have a problem with that. From my past experience, CRNA's love to teach.

anatomy and physiology
I would buy Clinical Anesthesiology by Morgan and Mikhail and study the physiology chapters and save my money.
