  1. I currently live in Miami and the job market is so saturated that it is almost impossible to find an RN job here without HR jerking you around and then telling you later that you need experience to get a job, which is the classic catch 22 when the jo...
  2. It's not what you know it's Who you know......

Are new doctors having this problem? Why aren't there any decent nurses unions. Electricians, carpenters, plumbers ALL have unions that fight this type of BS.
  3. It's not what you know it's Who you know......

I can't believe that this is what the world is like. if you work for something you should get it and if you are just born with freinds in the bizz you should "know" something and work hard too.
  4. Best Hospitals for New BSN Grads in Miami

Wow I have a stalker LOL.
  5. Best Hospitals for New BSN Grads in Miami

Wow I can't believe no one has posted to you yet. I'm sorry I'm so late. Miami is not a good place to come if you have no experience or if you want to move to a new feild within nursing. This place is as dried up as a dead fish in the middle of a sal...
  6. If an RN does an Oasis Start of care for a client and a shady agency says they will send an LPN out to do follow up but the care is never given is the RN's liscesne at stake? Given the RN has worked for the HH agency for 2 weeks and it's a first ever...
  7. Legal issue about RN's and start of care for OASIS.

The person did make reports to AHCA and the attourney general of the state.
  8. I went to work for a home health care agency not long ago. To make a long story short I feel that they may be guilty of fraud on a great number of levels and since it is a company with so few "salaried" employees what happened to me was lied about ev...
  9. No one wants to hire new grads!!!

No I'm an RN/BSN with bls acls and pals under my belt to boot. They still say I'm under qualified at all of the hospitals and the LTC and hospice and home health just isn't taking anyone w/o at leat 2 years exp.
  10. any jobs for new grads in fl

Whatever you do don't bother with Miami. I'm here and I've been out looking for work anwhere and there is NOTHING. I've heard about some places in TX having new grad openings.
  11. No one wants to hire new grads!!!

I've been in the same boat for 9 months. I'm in Miami and it's REALLY bad here. I hope you can find something in tampa or perhaps central FLA. Good luck.
  12. I'm currently in a new RN who has had no luck finding a job after almost a year of looking. I'm in Florida and I'm interested in expanding my job search nation wide and am willing to go any where. I already know that I have to get my license recogniz...
  13. Just quit my job

Wow! That's terrible. I wish HR had gotten off there butts to help you. Hospitals just do not care about the well being of their employees. I wish you the best of luck from here on out.
  14. I agree this is really smart advice. Most likely this woman noticed someone else noticing a flaw and in nursing circles things can get around fast so don't let someone like that hurt your rep. Also, DO NOT take it personally. She's targeting your emo...
  15. Thanks for this.
  16. I didn't assume that the first poster was being sarcastic only blackcat99, and if she was just trying that's no problem. I thought she's read that I'd tried to looked for positions with degrees that are less pay than RN. My location has only 3 monopo...
  17. Gee thanks for the sarcasm. You're truely a good person. Why did I bother asking at all?
  18. Do nurses really "eat their young?"

Yeah, in school I had some nursing instructors try to eat me. They are the creeps. Just deal with them as best as you can. There are some perfectly ok nurses out there as well.
  19. Lonely and stressed

You need to get used to people being mean to you in nursing, or just find a new position if you cannot. Nurses are very cliquey from my observation. Any sign of weakness will single you out for ridicule. What I do is just keep my mouth shut unless it...
  20. Do you regret being a nurse

I don't know yet, no one has hired me as a new RN yet. But, honestly, I've always been interested in the medical aspect of hospital work and getting my BSN has helped me in my understanding of physical disease. Don't ask why I didn't pursue MD, the w...
  21. Yeah, I'm an RN and RN's can't work as CNA's here; I've looked into it. So that's a dead end. They will not hire you as a clerk either. So anyone have any better advice for me?
  22. Yeah i think you mean SD or ND, because from my research NC is packed with new grads.
  23. New RN Grads in the ICU

Should new RN Grads be alowed to enter the ICU right after passing the NCLEX, or is more nursing experience needed.
  24. New RN Grads in the ICU

No I wasn't interested in CRNA school I just wanted the ICU at the time and wondered if I could handle it right out of nursing school as some of the other new grads at the time had, but it looks like things have changed a lot in the last few years LO...
  25. So I get my BSN and my RN liscense. I'ts been 5 months and about 50-75 job applications latter. And if this keeps up I'm going to be and OLD new grad with no experience who Is in the hole 30k in student loans. So what do I do now. I can't move locati...
