TIPS/Info for passing NCLEX
what really worked for me was taking a prep class. Not Kaplan since all they do is teach test strategies. I took a course that actually reviewed the material and did several tests on the material. I did the Martin review. Unfortunately its only offered in certain places. I had to go to Chicago to take it as it was the closest place for me to attend. Passed with 75 questions after that though.

My question is can the LPN remove the IV???
As a student Nurse Technician I was allowed to remove them. IN fact any patient care technician at our hospital was allowed to do so.

Took NCLEX-RN Exam today (YIKES!!!)
I had trouble with the NCLEX and had failed. I took a review course and then passed. I thought I failed when I retook it as my mind was elsewhere since the day before my car broke down and it costs $900 to fix and I was basically broke after that. But hey, had to have a car for my current job. Now I am looking for an RN job, but most hospitals I have found only hire at certain times of year for new grads typically January and June and have new hires go through an extensive orientation which includes classroom work and on the floor 1 to 1 experiences with an experienced nurse. So unless I can find a job someplace I have to basically wait until January.

How many times can I take Nclex-RN?
Well I believe that if you have failed a couple times it is probably best to do several things: 1. contact the school you graduated from and see if they can assist. Most schools I believe would offer some assistance: from tutoring to whatever your needs are. 2. Find an nclex prep course. I am taking the Martin review soon in chicago, but kaplan offers a course as do others. I believe the questions in the kaplan question bank are much much closer to what actual nclex questions are than say the questions in saunders. 3. contact other students you went to school with and ask them what worked for them. That's just my 2 cents. Hopefuly it works out for me, and hopefully it works out for others in my position.

How many times can I take Nclex-RN?
Well for anyone else who has the same issue of worrying about how many times you can take the NCLEX at least in Missouri.........I called the missouri board of nursing today and they said you can take the nclex as many times as need......they even said they have had people take it up to 15 times........hope i dont need that much lol but it is a relief.

How many times can I take Nclex-RN?
I am in Missouri and am wondering how many times I can retake the Nclex RN. I have failed several times and am already signed up to take a review course but now am wondering if i can even take the exam. I can't find any info on the subject on the missouri board website.

Any 2nd or 3rd time test takers?
I will be taking the Martin Review course to prepare. I have heard good things about it and I know of 3 people who just took it after failing the nclex and all three just passed it. They said it was great. So I plan to do it.

Anyone taken 265 and passed, even if they cried the whole way home from Pearson??
ya the reason i dont like the test is that it is a tricky test. I dont see the point. Plus i feel some of the questions are worded poorly and I know the answer if only i could go tell someone hey the answer is a if this is the case or b if this is the case and u cant tell because the question is just poorly written. Plus when i did do kaplan even the instructor failed her first test during the class, she took it for fun and i got a higher grabe than she did, i mean if a nurse who has 20+ years of experience and teaches the calss cant pass then maybe u need a different way to test. oh well im just ticked off cause i know i probably failed, and now i gotta shell otu 200 bucks and find a new job cause where i work now they are letting people go right now and im one of the few being allowed to stay working but its only temporary. So gotta find a job in a bad economy. looks like unemployment is in my future unless i can find something soon.

Anyone taken 265 and passed, even if they cried the whole way home from Pearson??
i just took it and got 265 questions and i seriously believe i failed. The questions on the nclex are way harder than in Saunders book. Saunders always has obvious wrong answers. Like if it is a question about priority following up on lab values saunders always has 1 of the 3 choices being outside normal range and thus is the correct answer. I took the nclex and all 4 answers were outside normal range. What do i do then? I got no clue. Plus my meds questions were mostly obscure meds. I had no math calculations whatsoever which sucsk because that is probably th easiest part to me. I dont know how to study for this test. I get 85% or better right on saunders tests. I did Kaplan and according to their test they predict id pass. I would say this Kaplan questions bank is much more difficult and closer to the nclex than saunders. I feel like such a loser knowing people who i freaking tutored passed the exam, these were people who basically slid thru nursing school barely and they passed yet i cant. I am afraid to even get the results and have to study once again for 45 days. Plus the delegation stuff was harder. I dont get it. I do need to learn meds better but using saunders is difficult. they dont give enough info, and at the same time there are like 2 trillion meds to learn: uses, side effets, adverse reactions, etc.....plus all diseases, surgerys, and other procedures........just too mcuh for my tiny brain to memorize.

TO ALL RNs WHO'VE TAKEN NCLEX MORE THAN ONCE
I want to know if you go to apply for a job do they know how many times you took the nclex? I dont want to have to explain how it took me a few times to pass it but the further i get from my graduation date to the time i pass (if ever) its going to something I gotta explain in an interview. Does anyone know?

How does the Hesi compare to the NCLEX
I had to take HESI as part of my school. I did the class at school and then passed the HESI test with flying colors...............then went on to fail the NCLEX with 265 questions. I believe the HESI is much easier than NCLEX.

NCLEX study accountability thread
I've been doing Suzannes plan, had to delay my Nclex due to a death in the family. My biggest problem is I have an ASN, and we never took a pharmacology class as part of the degree so i get beat up on meds. I study with the Saunders book but meds just seem so close to the same i get them all mixed up.

First week of Oct test takers in HERE!
so i cant be a nurse because i failed to answer a few questions differently. What sense does that make? None at all. Its a freaking scam.

First week of Oct test takers in HERE!
I have failed 3 times all with 265 questions. I cant pass. Just that simple.

First week of Oct test takers in HERE!
I'll never pass. I can never get the "what would you say to someone....." questions correct. Ever. I would never say anything of the 4 choices. Then we have prioritizing. Sometimes the ABC's simply do not work because you will ahve to people with an airway issue yet one is "more right" than the other. I think the test is meaningless. It proves nothing at all. Just robs me of time and money. I should have chosen a different occupation. :angryfire
