  1. I just noticed this response. Anyway, their requirements got modified. I asked their rep. if they would like me to pay CGFNS to forward my proof of certification to IDFPR. The rep. told me that they would accept and copy my original VSC; then return the original (which i received a few weeks back). They accept either CGFNS certificate or VisaScreen certificate. They don't require applicants to take the CGFNS exam anymore.
  2. Hi! I just received the original VSC that I sent them. My thoughts exactly. But I guess they just want to see the original for themselves.
  3. Their rep. emailed me that they need that for my application to get approved. They will copy it and mail the orig. back to me. Thanks for the advice.
  4. Typically, how long does it take for the IDFPR to grant an applicant a license through endorsement? Thank you.
  5. To those who endorsed their license to Illinois and used the VSC in lieu of the CES+English Exam, did you send your original VSCertificate to IDFPR and did they return that to you? Thank you!
  6. It took it 9 days from the time they mailed my certificate until i received it from the courier (UPS-2Go). You should be able to track the document with the tracking number they provide (the tracking number for my package was posted on my online account next to "Issued Certificate"). They also sent this notification to the email address I enlisted.
  7. I agree with you. I e-mailed them already before posting on this thread. My email account told me that the email addresses do not exist anymore. I checked the BON's website and they don't post their email address. I tried using their 'contact us' page, but it seems it doesn't work anymore, too. So if there are people who know the answer to my question, I'd appreciate an answer. (Meanwhile, I will ask them by standard ground mail.)
  8. Thanks, Anna. :) Hey, anyone else knows the answer to the fifth question? Thank you. 5. Regarding the fingerprinting process: I understand that I have to submit a fingerprint card to one of the agencies that IL BON enlisted on the last page of the Instruction Sheet. Aside from the FP-NUR form, am I required to send to IL BON the official receipt that will be given by Identix or similar group? Should I ask them to send IL BON the official receipt; or the FP-NUR would be enough and I should keep the receipt at home?
  9. I am an RN from the Philippines. I have applied for Licensure in the State of California and have passed the NCLEX-RN exam. I don't have a license yet since the BRN is waiting for my SSN which I currently do not have. I have already been issued a VisaScreen Certificate. I am planning to work in Illinois and I have some questions regarding the licensure process: 1. Since I already have a VisaScreen Certificate, I would like to confirm: I don't need to apply for the CES anymore, correct? 2. In lieu of the educational requirement (CES+English Exam), the VisaScreen Certificate is the only document that the IL BON needs and I don't have to submit a CGFNS Certification Program Certificate anymore? 3. If I am going to provide the VisaScreen Certificate Proof of Issuance, should I instruct CGFNS to send this to me and include this with my application packet that I will send to IL BON; or should I ask them to send this Proof to IL BON directly? Is this Proof of Issuance the same as the VisaScreen®: Verification of Certificate Letter which verifies that a VisaScreen® Certificate was issued? 4. I will send CT-NUR to California Board of Registered Nursing. Do I need to also send CT-NUR form to the Professional Regulation Commission in my home country, the Philippines, for verification of my license here? Thank you very much. I am looking forward to your help regarding my inquiries.
  10. It's nice that there's someone here who have worked for PNA before. I'm also really interested about what PNA does in our country. I am aware that they conduct seminars, so no need to mention this. Could you briefly tell us about the other things OUR organization does for nurses in our country (kindly exclude the JPEPA matter, i'm well aware of that)? I couldn't find much online.
  11. Thank you, Lawrence.
  12. CGFNS/ICHP has approved all my documents and is still waiting for the License Validation from California BRN. Yesterday, I noticed that my CGFNS online account has a new entry - a new row: ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT FROM CORRESPONDENCE TO CGFNS WAITING TO BE RECEIVED It has a note: passed NCLEX per application, but no state In the online application, I didn't fill out the entries about having a license in California. I don't have a registration nor license number since I have yet to get a US SSN. Does anyone here have the same situation? What does this mean? I'm going to call them sometime next week about this but I would appreciate it if someone could enlighten me about this.
  13. saying that "everything is in the students hands not the school" is an absolute statement. yes, it's true that students are in charge of their own learning but the resources of the school such as the equipment, laboratory, library, competent faculty members and the like are also of equal importance to maintain the interest, motivation and competency of the students. even if a student is smart, without proper stimulation, s/he will be shortchanged. therefore, it is my recommendation that a prospective nursing student look for a school that is consistent with higher passing rates of its graduates. after that, s/he should give her best to maximize the experiences s/he can get from the opportunities that that school has to offer.
  14. moved to questions for suzanne
  15. if it is that strict in OLFU, then why does a large portion of your graduates fail in the exams? (or am i mistaken, do you have high passing rates now? :) ) i mean i believe you that you have these stringent requirements before they allow you to take the NLE; still, how come so many fail? But I congratulate your topnotchers. Good job studying. :balloons:
  16. how many questions you had on your exam? 75 what did you use as a review material? saunders comprehensive review book and questions from the cd, kaplan question trainer (parts 1-3 only; i got bored with it. lol) enrolled in a review center or home study? studied in the university library percentage of topics youre very familiar with on the actual nclex questions? 90%. the questions are similar to those provided by saunder's and kaplan's books and cd questions; not the same. what did you feel after you finish your exam? right after the exam, i was glad that it was over after 1.5 to 2 hours. i felt like i was able to perform my best. but while i was commuting, the questions especially the last one, kept popping on my mind. i consulted the textbooks, i got more confused as to the corrections of my choices. lol. waiting for 23 days for the result was an agony. it's worth the wait, though, i.e. if you passed. :) good luck.
