  1. TPAPN is Texas Peer Assistance Program for Nurses. I am sure their intent was good, but they have not stood the test of time sadly.
  2. Hi and thanks for your support. I truly appreciate it. I think it was the counselor I had. There was no pleasing her. I had a theft....everything I woned and missed a call in by 5 minutes. She referred me to the BON and I gave them my license on a silver platter. It has left a very bad taste in my mouth for TPAPN. I loved nursing and I was good at it. As for the drugs..My ex husband who was abusive was stalking me. I couldn't sleep at night. I did something I deeply regret so that I could rest. Now...a good career is over. I could work with the BON but to have them looking over my shoulders for 3 years??? I am 52...by the time they decided I could practiced independently I'd be ready to retire. I have to say though...that for me..the Board understood better than TPAPN. At least they listened.
  3. No one knows except you. Granted you should be more responsible and take a look at that with your career in mind, but it shouldn't affect your license. We are human....not perfect.
  4. I would LOVE vet school. But I am a published writer now and will probably stick to that. Where do you live. I will ask my vet about schools.
  5. Crumb???? Ididn't 'attack participants'. I stated a fact....to ONE participant. Sorry if I offended.
  6. Texas Peer Assistance Program for Nurses...they are a joke.
  7. Yep! Sucks so hard! They should abolish that program. I have good solid reasons for saying so...not sour grapes!
  8. Yes they should be allowed back in. What if you have cancer or slip and fall and clain workmans comp? Should you be allowed back in? What if you are on a necessary medication that show in your urine test? You need that ned. Should you be allowed in. What if you get a dwi? Everyone deserves a second chance if they have taken steps to heal.
  9. Oh stop and grow up! Sex offender are everywhere and the ones who are most dangerous are the ones we don't know about. This man should not be working with children but for God's sake, address the situation without the name calling. Be adult. You will get further! You supposed to be professionals!
  10. Not no but H___ NO!
  11. TPAPN won't allow yo to work in any medical field...even as a CNA. Get a fun job and live life to its fullest and forget TPAPN!
  12. PUT NO! So NOT open that can of worms. You won't work again. Mental illness ranges from total insanity to mild anxiety. We all have that if we are in nursing.
  13. Get an attorney with knowledge of the Americans With Disabilities Act and have him write dear old TPAPN a letter. That should shut them up!
  14. Duh....don't give her the key!
  15. Were the DWI's before you became an LPN? If so talk to a texas attorney and have him write a letter. TPAPN is for NURSES who have a problem. There isn't a nurse alive who hasn't had a dwi at one time or another or some other problem!
