Third time is a charm!! Good pop-up!
Well first off, I started to believe in myself again, confidence is the first step and after failing twice I was running on empty... Next I used Saunders comprehensive review and did the assessment on the CD to see what my weak areas were... I would do those chapters and questions every couple of days. Another book that helped was the prioritization book by LaCharity... I rescheduled my test and did not tell anyone in my family except for my husband. I scheduled my test for 11am instead of 8am and went out for breakfast before my exam with my husband. I took my time and tried my hardest on the questions... when my computer shut off at 75 I felt very indifferent, but realized the last couple of ?'s were priority and delegation (I assumed these were passing level).... It was weird because I had NO math questions. Don't forget the power of prayer as well, HTH

Third time is a charm!! Good pop-up!
:yeah: So I took the NCLEX for the third time today.... Happy to say that I passed with 75 questions :) So what did I do differently? I FOCUSED, PRAYED, and used Lachairity I am so happy! Now I'm just waiting on the arrival of my first child in December. It is possible to pass! Don't give up! Waiting on official results so I can put RN behind my name

Taking NCLEX 3rd time on FRIDAY!
So I'm taking the NCLEX for the third time this Friday!! Please send me prayers, getting a little anxious, but I'm ready to conquer this thing! Things are a little interesting me being 7.5 months pregnant this time around.... I want nothing more than to officially become an RN before my son gets here in December!

7months pregnant..failed NCLEX.what to do
If it makes you feel any better... I just failed my 2nd time and I'm 6months pregnant. Talk about disappointment. Its definitely anxiety and confidence that I need to master because I know my stuff... I just felt a tremendous amount of pressure to hurry and pass since I'm working as a tech until I pass. My boss can only hold my job one more time so talk about pressure... On top of that I will be 7.5 months pregnant before I can retest, so she is a little worried about starting me on orientation only to have to retrain me after maternity leave... I'm looking at all of this as a sign from GOD that maybe I need to start AFTER baby is born. Congrats on your baby!! We will get through this :) We've already done the hard part, Nursing school!

I failed again :(
I failed 2x, last time being Monday as well. 1st time around I can honestly say I did little to prepare. Got all 265. This time I purchased the 5 week NCSBN (makers of NCLEXexam) online review. Didn't spend much time but did mot of the practice questios... still failed with 154 questions (worst). I honestly can say that anxiety and pressure is definitely my problem. I was hired in June for an RN position, I was given the opportunity to start after passing the second time. Not only did I fail, but am 5 1/2 month pregnant! I'm currently working as a tech and my boss is giving me one last chance before reposting the position :) THANK GOD!! I'm taking a whole new approach this 3rd time around. next week I will start with Prioritization, delegation, and assessment by Lachairity and use Saunders for content review. Will also make out a schedule to study at the library. Lastly I will try to change the time I've been testing and am not telling ANYONE besides husband what my test date is. Keep your head up! I know how you feel. Atleast you don't have a boss or former classmates that are Alread RNs that constently ask... It's humiliating. But I will not give up!!

I failed NCLEX TODAY and I have a question!!!
I got the same message... but everything turned out ok. I just resubmitted with my state board of nursing and received my ATT and rescheduled for 45 days after I had taken it :)

Failed the NCLEX!
Don't give up!! I failed w/ 265 questions this month also. I was DEVASTATED! Especially since I was supposed to start as an RN the next week in the Stroke ICU. Luckily they are letting me retake and work as a CNA until I retest on August 1st! My advice, cry, get up, and start studying! I'm in the online NCSBN review and try to do atleast 100 questions a day between that and ATI... It happens to the BEST of nurses and you WILL be an RN. Just speak it into existence :)
-
Is NCSBN a good course to take? What course would you recommend?
I'm taking it now... I find it helpful as far as a refresher. Questions are sorta similar to NCLEX. I failed on June 14th with 265 questions so retaking August 1st!

A Sure Fail?
Unfortunately the trick was true for me and I failed w/ 265 questions...But atleast we ALMOST passed. Keep your head on straight and try again :) Good luck to you.

NCLEX RN I had 24 SATA!!!
I wish this were true for me! I had atleast 20 and failed I also had all 265 ?s, so maybe thats it...

Got home from NCLEX and got no popup.
Same thing happened to me on Tuesday, except I got all 265 questions. At first I was so distraught and embarassed. All my classmates were posting that they passed on Facebook, It made me feel inadequate. The next day after crying my eyes out I pulled it together (especially since it was my 25th birthday). I stopped feeling sorry for myself and began thinking of all the things I HAD: A degree in Nursing, A loving husband and family, and the fact that I'm 4 months pregnant with my first child. One test is NOT going to define me. I was sooo nervous but had to call the hospital where I was offered a RN postion (orientation this Monday!). The Nurse recruiter was more than helpful, and told me that she had also failed the NCLEx the first time and that it doesn't predict what kind of nurse you will be! That made me feel a WHOLE lot better. She also offered me a tech position for the month and a half before retesting, then I will transfer into an RN position once I pass God is good! Like mentioned, take some time off to cry your eyes out and get back at it girly!!! Our time will come sooner than later! and in the grand scheme of things, what is 45 days!?!? Good luck to you!

RN-BSN while working AND pregnant
Is it possible to work as an RN, while pursuing my BSN and PREGNANT?!? I should be starting school in Fall 09 for my ADN. I really want to start a family as well, however I don't want to jeapordize getting my RN. So I have come up with two solutions: 1. get pregnant in ADN school so that I will have a baby the summer after graduation. Then I can start a new job and go back for my BSN while working... or 2. Get my ADN and soon after graduation get pregnant, while working as an RN and going for BSN (12 months, class once a week in evenings) Is either of these possible??? Please Advise !

Thanks for all your suggestions, I think Im going to go ahead and get that year of experience before even starting a family.. I think that's best.

Traveling along with husband, while caring for baby?!?
Thanks for the advice... I think you guys are right about the baby part... I will be 26 once I have a year of nursing experience. Which is still young enough to wait a year. I think once I'm finally done with school I will have a better idea of what exactly I want to pursue.

Traveling along with husband, while caring for baby?!?
He wants a family also... And said that he would wait on travel nursing.. I just know how much it means to him... I don't want to stand in the way of his dream, especially when I was planning on being a travel nurse along side him.. It's either travel with him or wait a year after we both travel and have a baby...

Traveling along with husband, while caring for baby?!?
Would it be hard to find per diem positions while only being at a place for 13 weeks at a time? How would this work? Any ideas?
