Hey Brian..I think that this is an awesome forum for first yr nurses...I have been a new nurse for almost 6 months now...I am a R.N. on a 41 bed post surgical nursing floor. It is a extremely and high demanding floor. I have been staying alfloat. I really enjoy the staff that I work with (at night) It is as if we are a culture of our own. The night staff is seem to be alot more supportive..I have started to become comfortable with making my own decisions without questioning every move. But I still ask loadssssssssssssss of questions. I am starting to question where I would like to be in my career as far as what type of nursing I would like to do..I am positive that it is not on a Surgical floor..lol...I have a few different avenues that I am interested in and have started to think about them alot more these days...I am affraid that I will become to comfortable and then be affraid to try my nursing skills in a new arena.. Nursing is such a demanding proffession and it is also the most rewarding. Some shifts are better than others...some you can't wait to end...and then you have some that are like wow...that was a great shift...lol..those don't happen to often but when they do...you will learn to appreciate them... I hope more people post...it is nice to see you are not alone!!!!

I was in your shoes early this week and beleive me I know the sick feeling you are having now I thought there was no way I could pass that test because it was sooooo hard. Keep the faith. I will pray for you and look foward to hearing you post your good news. Best wishes.

Guys, I know that it sucks waiting...because the last 2 days have been hell for me waiting for the results to come in. Have faith...you will and can do it...I will look foward to hearing more good news. I will pray for you all!!!

how good is god!!!!!! i too passed...to my cammy....i love you too and i am sooooo proud of you we did it girl...we worked so hard and sacraficed so much but it is finally over. i am happy that i had you by my side the last couple of weeks you have truly been heaven sent.. spec....gurlllllllllllll you betta work it...i am proud of you to..i prayed for us all and i am soooo happy it is over. wow we are rn's and nobody can take that from us girls...we did the work and so our new journey's will now begin as nurses.... :balloons: :balloons:

Congrats to you...I could only imagine how good you must feel right now...I am awaiting my results this morning and I am so scared and can't wait to find out at the same time....Enjoy your day...you did it and deserve to feel like you are on cloud 9 today!!!

OMG Took mine today too...got 120 also...and feel the same...My friend finished at 75...I feel soo sick right now...It was a really hard test..and I have soooo much riding on the results....How are we going to last 2 days

Don't be discouraged...I will say a prayer for you..The thing with NCLEX is it can go either way....I take mine soon...so I will be in your shoes in a few weeks..keep us posted...and Good luck!!

Thanks for the responses..I am still awaiting mine. I graduated on the 15th of December and mailed out my licsence information out before I graduated and registered with pearson vue this week. Is the process the same in FL?

That sounds like a nice gift....I have a thing for pens..I'm probally the one that would collect those lost pens...lol...but what a nice idea to put your name on them..after all we did work our butts off for the tittle, so we deserve to see it too!!! I have yet to buy my something for myself...with pinning,xmas, class dinner...I am sooooooooooo broke...but I will think of something good to buy myself soon!!!

DC2RN, Thank your for replying...I am glad that you are doing well. I know that you must really be busy so I am glad that you responded. If at all possibble do you know what the sarting salary is for a new grad? And any other info that you may be able to share as to what else they may have "package wise" . Once again thanks NYNURSE2b
