Rn Case Mngr Position With Ccm Preferred?????
lucrative because in field case managment, you can bonus in addition to your salary and also get reimbursed the IRS rate for the mileage you do. Workers comp is very lucrative in the field, reqwarding, challenging and no 2 days are the same. We are in high demand in this competative field. More lucrative if bilingual..it is awesome, I work for a awesme company for several yrs and I would never leave... MHAYES !!:monkeydance:

certified managed care nurse (CMCN)
CCM is the ultimate certification. It is a difficult exam and well worth it. It is required (at some point in employment) with workers comp and insurance company CM. It is a highly desirable designation.. go for it !! I am so glad I did.. it encompasses WC, UR, inpatient, life care planning... the gamit.. that is while it is highly desirable. Problem is: yuo need to meet the qualifications for it, they are stringent, you need to have the job descriptions that fullfll the requirements. Good Luck.. Go For IT

Work from home Case Management/UR
hello all from NC, the best way to get into CM and work from home is to apply to companys (national ones) for a field case managment position. The is one that will allow yuo to work as an independent in the states they hire "affiliates" . Yu work for them as an affiliate (subcontractor), this is an up and comming thing. Field CM positions allow you to have the ability and flexibiltiy to work from home and utilize your nursing experience while in the field with clients. The autonomy is awesome and the flexibilty is great. Yuo need discipline with a home office. Been doing it for 5 years now Love it !!! You get appreciation, bonus' and you are autonomus , use your knowledge daily and no 2 days are ever the same, challenges and never get bored...and no "watercooler " or "cubby" gossip , it is awesome. It is hard work though.. have to be a multitasker... but it can be very rewarding and lucrative :monkeydance:

how to get started in CM
best way to get started in CM, if you want a field position and want to work from a home office and go into the filed is to have critical care and trauma experience (ER, ICU, Ortho, Neuro) best bet.. this sets up up for a great workers comp filed position that can have alot of opportunity for advancement and the flexibility of a home based office and ability to travel in the local areas.
