  1. what do you mean fake MD supervisor? are you in home health? :welcome:
  2. i LIKE you..... thx for the encouragement....i needed to talk to someone that would back me up.... after literally being cornered and badgered all day..... :angryfire
  3. no i havent signed anything for this nurse....but i was pressured all day to get her visits verified.... she skimped on all of the notes b/c how in the world would anyone remember what they did yesterday never mind a month or more ago..... all but one nurse in this relatively small agency is allowed to get that far behind...they say they are afraid to address it too harshly b/c the field staff will leave but the admin is putting pressure on me to "close for the 15th of the month and it is your job to verify those notes and sign off on them" .... when i mentioned that i would not do this and i would resign first i was threatened with "2 wk notice or we will report you for job abandonment!"
  4. not giving 2 weeks notice???? would the board take any action for that? especially if the reason you want to leave is because you fear losing your license if you stay and sign off on nurses paperwork for visits done over 4 weeks ago but the notes were done yesterday?!?!? Uggh! how DO i get myself into these situations?????:uhoh21:
  5. what do they pay for shift diffs? does anyone know? how about a weekend diff?
  6. this happened to me the day my grandmother died.... they made me schedule my pts around the funeral b/c they had no one to cover me and i was still in my 90 day probation period after being a new hire.... basically i was told if you can't do it, you can be terminated b/c you are not technically a permanent employee yet.... when I questioned the supervisor on call about the definition of compassion and mercy, she asked me if that meant i was advising her that i was refusing to come in even after she had "read the policy" to me .... i went in.... fool i am ~ i know..... welcome printed on the back of my scrubs.... but you live and learn...i don't take anything from anyone any more.... :uhoh3: hope you start feeling better soon, rachel
  7. RN CASE MNGR -- needed ASAP for Fortune 500 company. Must have 3 yrs case mngt. Exp. Clinical exp and CCM is preferred. Call xxxxxxxx aside from the 3 yrs experience.... what skills are required for a case management position like the one described above..... are there an educational resources to learn this specialty... also is case management the same as home health case management? if not how do they differ? thanks in advance :monkeydance: :monkeydance: :monkeydance:
  8. what does this mean when you see it in an ad for an rn supervisor position in an ltc? does anyone know what these guidelines are or have a resource on where to study up? also what do they mean when they say must be familiar with mds? is that making reference to the same guidelines or is that something related to case management and if so .... how do you learn more about case managing in ltc's? last question is case management in ltcs the same concept as case management in home care? if not, how do they differ? thanks in advance.... :monkeydance: :monkeydance: :monkeydance:
  9. wow...i work for a HHA and we are adding insulin et al to the TPN in the home.... no other nurses to double check for us ..... never knew it was done differently in the hospital
  10. ooops duplicate thread, sorry
  11. My first question would be ... is the patient or family teachable? If so TEACH, TEACH, TEACH..... and no, not every agency is soooo greedy that they will jeopardize their license or their nurses licenses for more $$$$...... the agency i work for now would but when i worked in connecticut, we would close to admissions if we were short on nurses.... at least until we examined the pt population we had and d/c'd those who were ready, etc... my guess though is that in the real world most places are like who we are stuck with right now.... Ugghhh!
  12. o ouch..... those words are ringing in my ears !o grrrrrr!!!!!! :angryfire
  13. Let's start a CLUB !!! :argue:
