  1. Folks: Anyone interviewing for July 2012 Residency? My question is: how soon do we hear back if we got the position? I interviewed for another residency and received an offer today (day after I interviewed). They would like me to give them an answer...
  2. WHC July 2012 residency or Feb 2012 residency

Good luck. I cancelled my interview for this morning. I took the job closer to my house. The drive to WHC from where I live was way brutal. Good luck.
  3. And most grad schools want a 3.0.
  4. A 4.0 does not result from 'memorizing' everything. You're trying this approach and getting Bs. I graduated with a 4.0 for my BSN last weekend and can attest that the grades are reflective of how I did on tests, papers, case studies, presentations,...

Can you go to see your DON and complain about what you have heard is going on? Offer to do a voluntarily drug screen. After this blows over, and it will, find another job. In fact, start looking now. But you have to clear your name before you go, ...
  10. trouble with clinical evaluation

Good point. Yeah, unfortunately, my instructor thought it'd be a good idea to quote the whole thing prominently on my eval. She then told me, "I asked two other instructors if they'd had trouble with you in clinical and they hadn't so I thought it w...

  12. trouble with clinical evaluation

Thank you. Yes, I told the instructor I wasn't comfortable signing it. I asked her if this RN's comments should be so prominent in that I was only there 6 hours out of the 72 hours for the community nursing clinical hours. She said she'd received no...

  15. about the nursing program in Shenandoah University

I only applied at Shenandoah (accelerated 2nd degree program) and it wasn't because I couldn't get accepted anywhere else. My overall GPA was a 3.7 and in my prereqs, it's 3.8. I have gone to graduate school at Georgetown in another field and taught ...
  16. Shenandoah 2nd Degree and Midwifery Programs

@VWDE: I went to the link you provided and reviewed the data regarding NCLEX pass rates for BSN programs @ GMU & SU. Actually, GMU's % is slightly below SU's success rate. GMU (85.71%) vs. SU (86.96%). So I think that isn't relevant here. Plus, ...

Where I work, some *doctors* are so busy texting and IMing their buds. Yes, and others too, including nurses and paras. I wish people would focus.

  21. will my dx prevent me from entering NS?

Mine is very mild asthma. I have never had to miss anything b/c of it. It is mostly induced by allergens. I have been working as a personal trainer for several years, teaching boot camp 2x a day with no problem. Thanks.
  22. Epilepsy

Hi folks. I have had a dx of epilepsy since I was 9. I have not had a seizure in 3 yrs. Do you think the NS will hold this against me when I apply? I just want to know before I continue with prereqs. I emailed the college with a general question...
  23. Physical for NS

I am getting my physical for NS tomorrow. I am fearful about listing some of my medical problems, i.e. asthma and epilepsy (have not had a seizure for three years). Might the NS discriminate against me b/c of these illnesses? Maybe thinking I would h...

Just give it a few years. When both kids are in school all day. Try to save some money selling things on ebay or somehow. It may take your husband a few years to come around. THis is what happened to me.
