Staffing agency-Really need everyones opinion!
:uhoh3:Hi everyone, hope everyone is doing well! specially with everything going on! i really need your input!!! i am a Lpn from florida and i have been looking for a job for 2 weeks now. during these 2 weeks i applied for to 2 different staffing agencies. now i had applied to these agencies because so far either there were no jobs, or if there were any the hours did not coordinated with my kids schedules (at least morning time) so i felt that staffing agency was more flexible. now 2 weeks i had no call from the agencies. i called almost every other day to check for work and to make sure they didnt forget about me. but it so happens that tomorrow i have an interview with a hospital near my home. dont know $, or exact duties yet...now as i just got off the phone with the hospital (interview) one of the staffing agency called me and left me a message for a Lpn position. dont know where, $, or duties. ....... i am very interested in the hospital job, but dont know yet what im in for....and i dont want to call the agency and say to them i cant take the job .... what im trying to say is i really want to keep the agency in my good side just incase the hospital job doesnt work! how can i post pone the agency job without jepardizing it? at least not to have the agency on my bad side just incase i need them? any recommendations????

Really Neeeed Help`and Info!!!!please Post!!!
Hello everyone! i am writing because now that i have my Lpn license i am going into the next step which is to find a job! i have read some post from some of you that recomend new grads not to work in agency, specially pool type. but unfortunately the majority of jobs posted have been agency!!! i really need help from all of you out there to give me all the info you can which will help alot of other nurses also! i have lots of questions that may be you all can help out with... 1)should a new lpn "try out" working agency? 2) if so what can i really expect? is it that bad? good? 3) now...how will i know what ceu courses to take in order to renew my license? 4) does the courses depends on what department you work on? example if i work in the med/surg floor in a hospital, or what about agency where it can be in any hospital and any floor? i am a little nervous beacuse there are plenty of jobs for lpn where i live (which is miami, florida) but they all require 1-2 years experience!...i applied anyways just incase but how can i possibly find a job if they want experience? they are not giving new grads a chance...so far the only ones giving a chance are the agencies! and to be honest i am a little afraid because we do not get preceptors.....any info from you guys that may help please post!! thanks everyone!!

BUT SHE NEVER GAVE UP WHAT SHE WANTED!!! so dont! and have you checked this website for license verification? check it out to see if you find your name! http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/nursing/nur_statutes.html click on license verification and enter just your first 2 or three letters of your name and last name. dont fill out anything else that way it is easier to find. and then check out the list of names!! best of luck!!!

I Passed My Nclex-pn!!
Thank you so much! the course was not that bad...at the beginning it was a little overwhelming learning so much info in a frame of time but i tried to keep organize as much as i could, and even if i did fell behind in class i went home and read/study to finish the materials...as per the test how i did it...honestly i did questions everyday for 4-5 months. it sounds like alot but it really was not! i did in one day as many questions as i could! if i am busy no problem i did 5,10,20 or if i was doing nothing i tried to do 50 or more; but still did some so i can keep and get used to the routine/habit of answering questions! that way when test day comes it felt like another regular day of study!! that to me really helped alotttt!!! because i did not get sooo nervous and i was able to focus! i did over 2,500 questions. cd and book!!! you'll be fine! as long as you dont give up and don't discourage yourself!! best of luck!!! in a few months you'll be done!!!
