If you had some sort of pre-existing condition you probably could qualify for Access TN. You may qualify for the other plan, Cover Tn. Here is the link so you can check out the different plans available. http://www.covertn.gov/

Personally, I have chosen a Associates program due to the "time frame" and financial factors. I'm anxious to go out and begin working due to my single parent status. However, I do plan on going for my BSN as quickly as possible. IMO..maybe time frames and financial constraints are what attract others to the ADN programs as well?:thnkg:

Volunteer, I believe there were some students that got accepted into the program for fall semester that had B's in A&P. Your bachelors should be a plus as well.:wink2:

Josh, Congrads for geting in. I'll be right there with you! I'm taking Microbiology this summer and there are quite a few nursing students in class with me that just finished the 1st semester of Nursing at CoSCC. They all have wonderful things to say about the nursing instructors and the program. They did say that the final was very hard and a lot of people had a hard time, but they said if you just keep up with reading everyday and just focus on the classes that you can pass. I guess, life beyond school has to be put on hold. Which is ok by me.

Session 1- Microbiology (5 weeks)

Columbia State Community College admits both Fall and Spring semesters. They have a point system, you basically have to have higher than a C in A& P to get in. I believe everyone that got accepted for the fall had no lower than an "A" in A&P1. Many students who got "B's" in A&P1 last semester retook it this semester to try to get "A's". It also helps if you have a bachelors degree already; this waives the ACT requirement.

80 per semester.

I'm 36 a single mother and needed a career change. I currently have a Bachelors in Psychology which I haven't been able to do much with, I am currently in real estate, but it doesn't provide the income stability I need to support my children. I have decided to return to school this fall and will begin my pre-requisites and hope to get into NS by Fall of 08. I'm really excited because I love helping people; which is one of the things I enjoy about real estate. However, with nursing I can help people and get paid for working.

I am a single mother of 2 as well and I have decided to go back to school and will be starting this August 28th. Because it has been such a long time since I've been in school (12yrs to be exact) I'm only taking 1 class this semester...A&P I. I am a bit scared and not quite sure how I will manage everything yet because I do not have help. Right now my classes are scheduled Tues 6-9pm. and Thurs. 6-8pm. I don't have a steady full-time job that I have to go to, because I'm a Realtor and I substitue teach on the side so I shouldn't have trouble working in some study time. Because I am anxious to start working and in great need of the steady income I'm going for my ADN and will work on my BSN after I obtain employment. The ADN program is 2 yrs or 4 semesters and the BSN would take me a little bit longer to complete.
