  1. also, i'm really wondering. why should they start counting the period of your eligibility from the day they received your application, when in fact, they still have to review your papers and decide if you meet the requirements to become eligible. it doesn't make sense to start counting the validity period from then. i am referring to situations before they required the CES. i don't mean to rant, but i am simply dumbfounded with this situation. i have read the new mex bon site (during the time i was applying and waiting for my eligibilty) and i failed to see any clear cut guideline as to when the validity period of the eligibility actually starts. during my time, i kept calling the bon and just got voice mail, sent inquiries on their site, and didn't get a reply. i sought guidance in forums and other people's experiences... and found out that i have been misinformed. oh well, in any case, oversight on my end and limitations on their part, overall, it's a real painful experience.
  2. thank you for all your posts... I will not be re-applying to the NM BON to sit for the exam... nothing was assumed in the process of my application.
  3. Just received an update. This is the saddest news to date. My eligibility has indeed expired. PLEASE TAKE NOTE, if this in any way can help, THE VALIDITY OF THE ELIGIBILITY STARTS FROM THE DATE THE NM BON RECEIVED YOUR COMPLETE APPLICATION. This is a painful experience for me. Very disappointing indeed.
  4. hi chicken 11.... i wasn't able to read your post earlier. may i ask where you got this information? gosh, i am afraid i am on the same boat as bynell... is there hope for me? i am so depresse
  5. please, i need your help.... i've read this forum, followed instructions, have been diligent with the application process. i am in trouble. i received my eligibility last feb 14, 2008. and from the posts here, and thru research on the net, i have gathered information that the eligibility is valid for one year from the date you have received it. my problem is, i registered with pearson vue last nov 24, 2008 and have been waiting for my att. after a few days of not having received any feedback, i emailed sabrina vidaurri of nm bon, and she said that my eligibility has already expired!!!! what can i do about this? has any of you experienced the same thing? my friend and i are in the same situation and we feel trapped!!! it was an absolute blow! we've spent quite a sum of money... please, any advice will really help! thank you (reference, page 96 post... hi mhaui. the validity of nm eligibility if one year from the time u received your eligibility. that was my question before and i emailed sabrina vidaurri and that was her reply. its better if u email her at [email protected]. don't forget to put your reference file number on the subject. hope this helps. goodluck. )
  6. thank you happy_peanuts! it's better to hear/read it from someone who can understand the challenges of nurses these days. best of luck indeed to all of on the same boat... some day, we will find our way....
  7. what have we gotten ourselves into? being a nurse these days means that you will be exploited by hospitals, shun by international hospitals due to immigration issues, unemployed, and left to ponder of what should be, can be, would be. most of us are on the same boat. we invested so much time, money, and effort in this profession that we love only to find out that there are no jobs for us. what can we do now? hope. wait. persevere. focus on the goal and simply survive all the challenges. depressing. sad. but that's how it is. :thnkg::sasq:
  8. congrats yetski! both on your NLE and receiving your eligibility... you got your eligibility fast :-} lucky you good luck to all of us :-)
  9. Hi w_padre! congrats on your eligibility... I got mine too mid Feb... now I'm really anxious about the test. Good luck to us... Have you registered with Pearson vue?
  10. Thank you silverdragon :-) I'll probably register with them mid march... it's quite a relief to get that email from the nm bon, but i dint expect to be this anxious. i'll let it sink it first then focus on the next task.
  11. hi kankuro... hang in there. you'll get a notice from the nm bon soon...
  12. Hi everyone! I finally received news from nm bon today. I got this email... "Your file is now complete with the board. You need to register with Pearson VUE for receipt of your ATT. You can register online at: www.pearsonvue.com/nclex" Thank God the wait is over... Now I have to double my efforts to study. I'm really behind... All in all, it took 6 months! Whew... Dear moderators, i just have a question. Now that I finally got the notice to register with pearson vue, can I delay it a bit? Can I register next month and let the 3 month countdown start from then? All of a sudden I'm anxious about the time... Geez, I'm scared to take the test.
  13. hi cher383! good luck with your exam... if you register with pearson vue and ask about the availability of slots (phil/hk/saipan - whichever), please update us here in the forum :-) i'm hoping to get my eligibility soon... btw, when in aug did you send your application?
  14. wow! you finally got your eligibility! good luck richierichRN! :-) i hope i get mine soon too!
  15. hi behmarz! i too had my TOR sent last august. then i sent my application last september. i got a letter from them last oct saying that i have to resend my payment for the fingerprint cards since they increased their fees. anyway, that's how i found out that they have my papers. i also paid them thru credit card and saw that they already charged me for it. anyway, its been five months since i sent my TOR and until now i don't know the status of my application. i've emailed them and used their online "feedback" and haven't received any word. i'm very anxious too. it you have time, you can look at the new mex forum. i was relieved to have read a post there. astroboy i think, im not sure, i have to look again, anyway, he sent his applcation last july and got his eligibility last dec. ianjel also just received his eligibility last jan 31. let's keep our fingers crossed that ours will be in the mailbox soon... also, about the new requirements, i don't think we'll be affected since we sent ours last year. according to silverdragon's post, only those who will start applying this feb are affected by the changes.
  16. hi iangel! congrats! the wait is over and now you finally have your eligibility :-) anyway, can i ask when you sent your documents to nm bon? also, i heard from some people (contrary to what i've read), is it true that upon receiving your eligibility to take the exam from the nm bon, that you are only given 3 months to take it? i thought that the eligibility is good for 365 days, meaning you have a year to take the exam, and that only upon registering with pearson vue that you are given three months to take it. please, which is which? now i'm panicking because if i'm only given 3 mos. from receiving eligibility to take the exam, i have to "triple" time on my reading...
  17. let's keep our fingers crossed :-)
  18. thanks for the update :-) my school documents were sent last aug and my application form, fingerprint etc were sent last sept. then they returned my bankdraft bec they increased their fees, so i resent my bankdraft last october 30. gosh... its a mind boggling wait. being patient becomes challenging since i cant help but be anxious about my application... gosh... we share the same boat... please continue posting updates on this thread bec its very helpful... :-)
  19. Good luck astroboy! After the long wait, you now know when "D'day" is... I sent my application last aug/sept then they returned my fingerprint cards and i resent it end of oct... gosh, i'm really wondering when i'll get my eligibility, oh well.... i'll start studying on january 1... hopefully, i'll know my status in 2 or 3 months...
  20. our experiences in applying for the boards, getting our ratings, etc... are all part of the sad reality we have to endure in this government agency. its so sad that with all the money they earn with nurses, they can't even improve their service. where is all the money? who will help us? we can keep complaining but nothing ever gets done... oh, and what about the mandatory PNA membership! we paid P300 for an annual fee... just to find out that is you registered last september that it was only good til december!!! then you have to renew on january!!! why did they charge P300?!?!? it should be valid for a year from registration!!!
  21. hi xyaciv... i think it's better to wait for them to return it because it has instructions included in the packet.... im still waiting for mine to return, im a bit anxious because my friends got theirs last wednesday and thursday. i hope itll be in my mail box tomorrow... hi astroboy... i think i read somewhere in this forum that last month, they were still working on applications from last may. so, they're probably processing yours by now.
  22. dear xyacivx, i sent my documents with two other friends... their fingerprint cards were sent back and im anxious if ill get mine back. according to them, there was a letter attached as to why their cards were returned, and the reason states was that the fees were changed. if you want to know if they received your documents, you can email vidaurri and inquire about your requirements. if you used fedex, you can check with their tracking service and see what time and who received your documents...
  23. hi everyone... just an update that i want to confirm with anyone who knows the same thing... my friends and i sent our application forms to new mexico board last sept 14 and they received it sept 17. my friend's fingerprint cards were sent back because they said that the fees increased last september 14. what used to be $31 the nm dept of public safety for the fingerprint cards ARE NOW $40.25 does anyone know anything? i havent received mine and am wondering why.... we sent our documents at the same time...
  24. you're welcome... i hope all things will be ok with you too...
  25. hi w_padre... about the NM fingerprint cards. i emailed them also but was advised that they don't send out fingerprint cards anymore. what you can do is, if you live in manila, you can go to the U.S. embassy mon-fri. bring your NM application form and show it to the guard and say that you'll be getting fingerprint cards. they'll let you in starting 1030AM. then go to window X inside. the lady in the "window" will give you two fingerprint cards, no charge... its free. then go to NBI carriedo and have your fingerprint taken. since you need two, you'll be paying P20 for each = P40. good luck on your application... i sent mine last month and hopefully things will be okay.... hmm... sorry i'm not sure about that. just in case though, i think it would be better to send your license and not the certificate so that you'll be sure you did the right thing... if you registered with pearson vue already and paid the fee, you have a period of 90 days to schedule to sit for the exam. as to your question about sending your eligibility card/letter back, i'm sorry i dont know about that.
