Congrats!!!

in our facilty, we do have computerized charting. It is a cart with the computer attached to it. for me it is very convenient because you have an easy access to your assessment, meds profile, lab and etc. although the doctor's order is always attached in the chart, you could always go to the nurses station to check new orders. when you do assessment at bedside you could easily put them in the assessment portion or make a note and put them in later whenever you have the time and just adjust the time to when you actually did assess the patient. when you give meds, you take your cart in the patient's room and prepare your meds or prepare them before you get in or whatever is easier for you, then inform the patient what meds youre giving and then scan there armbands or ask their full name and DOB. you are actually outside the patients rooms in the hallway with your computer cart. when your patients need help, or the call light is on. then you can just easily go to them in seconds and address their needs. if you have a pocket phone, it has its advantage and disadvantage to it. when you need to get hold of an MD for patient change of condition or critical values, you can call them right away. but when you are in the patient's room and doing some procedures and your phone rings, then you are interrupted. its up to you to answer it or not. but answering it and telling them your in a patient's room and ask for their number for you to call them back - is much better than not answering them at all. i hope i answered some of your questions.

in some way it helped me got through all my nclex questions. of course, when you sit and take the exam, you really need to think it through using critical thinking (integrating the knowledge, concepts and principles; putting them all together to be able to answer a question) but when you are having a hard time and not sure of your answer; then all the kaplan strategies will help you out. read the book and it sure do gave me some enlightenment on the test-taking strategies. good luck & god bless you. :)

i passed the readiness test in kaplan. i also passed the nclex with 75qs. for me, it doesn't really assure you that when you pass the readiness, you will pass the nclex. but somehow when you take the readiness 2 weeks away your scheduled exam then you can gauge yourself where you stand and what aspect you need to read on. you can always practice answering on the qbank or q & a. for the select all that apply: basically there's no sure strategy on that. they can question you about almost anything. for me, i studied infection control, some basic nursing procedures and patient safety. i sure did got them on my exam. i'm sure you'll both do fine on the exam. just know your abcs, usual meds and disease (s/sx). good luck & god bless!!!

hello there! i passed with kaplan as my only review material. i did the online course not the classroom cause i am not into studying with a group. i am most effective doing it alone and in my own set of time. i reviewed the concepts that i am having difficulty in understanding. i reread it a couple of times. watched the videos parallel to the concepts. then i practiced with the qbank with my weak points first, then got result and see if i've improved. i did that till i was sure i understood them all. then comes my moderate concepts, same strategy in studying and testing. then the last i read about were my best-strong points which i know needs polishing still, then i took qbank tests too on the subjects. basically i followed the course book suggestions but i did my own schedule basing from the diagnostic test result. remember to take test before and after reviewing that way you can gauge where you are and you can remedy the things you still need to read. did 100-150 qs a day from qbank. the qtrainer was okay. i took the 1,5,6,7 test only since i needed to practice on the application-analysis type of questions ( which is the nclex style questions). i never had the chance to take the 3 sample test they had. hehehe... i am glad i did kaplan. the strategies they teach you are really very helpful to me, my anxiety level dropped down since i know how to approach each question. lastly, make use of everything that you purchased from kaplan and focus! you can do it too! good luck! :)
