We go Monday to get our patients and do our pre-clinical paperwork. This semester we had "Team Leader" each week who assigned patients. Each student took this role for one week. Then for clinicals we go 630-1230 or 1130-530 Tuesday and Wednesday. 30 minutes each for preconference and postconference. I feel like I get enough time with the patients and still get to learn when other students are doing things I haven't.

I am in my second semester at GCCC in the RN program. I think most classes get around 5-7 LPN students 3rd semester. I don't really know the requirements for the LPN transfer or how many other students you will be competing with. But I have heard it is less difficult to get in if you go that route. I absolutely love the program. They did cut back the standards for the first semester students after I finished. You only need to get an 80 on the math test to pass in Foundations now. They are also changing the way clinical paperwork is done in Adult I. You will hear a lot of horror stories from disgruntled students that didn't pass and want to blame everyone but themselves. The instructors are so helpful and want you to succeed very much. The current first semester class has not lost anyone yet and Adult I starts in 2 weeks. Huge change from my class that lost around 27. I think the reformatting of the class has really helped. I hope I sort of answered your questions...sorry for the long response. Hey! I am currently in the RN program at GCCC. I know the starting rate for RNs in the hospitals around here used to be around 16/hr. I am not really sure about LPNs, but it should be somewhere in that ballpark. Of course there are shift differentials as well. Isn't the LPN program at GCCC done through the Gulf Franklin campus? Florida offers a great program for highschoolers that I am currently using. It is called Bright Futures. They pay 100% of my tuition through my bachelors, plus $200 a semester for books (one book anyways ). I also have a nursing scholarship from my school for $700 a semester to use for whatever I need. I usually end up with a little money left over in the end. I would reccomend talking to the financial aid office at your school. My college has a large fund that they portion scholarships out of each year. Start working on it now, most are due between now and April!

Heh. I want to interject on the other side of the argument. I would reccommend you examine WHY it bothers you before you lash out and choose your words very carefully. This could be construed by him as jealousy on your part, especially if he has issues accepting (constructive) criticism from others. I am not saying that is the case, but how you intend things and how people view them can be completely opposite. I find it helpful to have other students help each other get things right. What is is doing is over the line though. In the end, it is your choice on how you handle it and what makes you comfortable.
