Hi all! just wondering if anyone in your unit do ambulate or sit out of bed your patients while on continuous renal replacement therapy? I just came across into one of the research article that it is safe to do it.. many thanks!

I finished my course in Mercy Health.As far as I can remember,interview consists of clinical questions but its not difficult. Bridging program's goal is to prepare you to be a safe and competent nurse. So I suggest during the clinical placement, know your limitations, so dont do something that you are not sure of . Just follow policy and procedures and you'll be fine.All the people in mercy are very supportive.

Do your bridging program in mercy health training institute.. Just 1 week theoretical and the rest will be clinical placement so your technical skills will definitely be developed!

for those who finished their IRON: how long did it take you to get your registration from aphra? and for those with 456 visa: what did you do after the IRON? did you go back to your country before your visa expires while waiting for registration??:confused:i hope someone could answer me..

how about those international nurses who have 3-4 years experience? would they also be having difficulty in finding job? does their experience in their home country will be counted?

make also sure that you comply on the guidelines of notarization which is also listed in the application form. have other documents ready like the PRC diploma as they ask me to send it to them.

i verified it with the prc and its really prc diploma. i guess everyone waiting their NBV letter should ready this document, as ive known nurses asked by their respective registration officer to present it..

hi everyone! last year i already sent mt certificate of good standing at NBV. lately, they are requiring me to pass a certificate of initial registration. is that same with the PRC diploma? of just a verification of nursing registration indicating the date of initial registration? is there anyone having the same situation i have? thanks

actually, it is a local employer with an australian partner firm offered the job. they are sponsoring nurses via a 457 visa.they also said we will be working as enrolled nurses. i already started the process last year. the NBV already sent me a letter, but unfortunately there are some documents i still need to resend to them for the initial registration as div 1 nurse. i am also done with my ielts exam.

you are not alone with your sentiments. that is what the real nursing world - going overtime and sometimes without decent breaks:crying2:, having excessively demanding clients and worst under staffing:down:. i guess, its really of part of our job and makes it more challenging.

what is the national registration new policies? how can we be affcted by these?

hello love nature! thanks for the link..its helpful. i should have found this thread earlier, that i applied by myself. another question do you have any idea what is the bridging program all about? i believe its 1 month theoretical and 2 months practicum? do you have to study all the nursing concepts again in theoretical? and how about the 2 months practicum,does it require to fulfill hours of duty?after finishing the bridging program, how one would qualify to become a registered nurse? does it have like a major exam like NCLEX? please enlighten me...thank you!

upon reading the posts, i feel not alone in the process of waiting.. i am a nurse in the phil with almost 3 years of hospital experience in a tertiary hospital.an agency offered a work in melbourne as enrolled nurse but they say as part of registration as nurse a adaptation course will be taken.they ask me to submit my application. i sent it last week of novmber 2009 through my employer/sponsor, i keep in sending email to check the progress of my application but unfortunately all i can do is wait. sometimes im becoming impatient,.:confused: its been almost 3 months and i hope to hear some good news very soon.i wanted to know if all of you have employers/sponsors like mine? or do you shoulders all the finances? well, good luck to our application!

hi physteac! thank you for the reply. yes, i submitted my requirements at NBV last nov and im quite worried about my application, since i still didnt receive any news. anyway, it gives me strength knowing that tasks as EN would be almost similar to what i used to do.there is still no specific hospital which i will work to.:confused:for now, all i can do is wait patiently. one more question, could you enlighten me about that bridging course? is that ill go to a university and study again? the aftr 3 months is there any examinations i need to take to become a RN?

questions. there is an agency here offering me an immigrant visa to US?they want to consider me these option. we all know that there is a huge backlog on visa, that is why im hesitant to accept it. they say that the processing is long so, i will be allowed to work in other agency while my papers are ongoing. i can work abroad if i want as long as i would let them know. what really is the working condition for nurses in the US right now? they are verbal telling us that there is a shortage of nurses in USA. that is why they are eager to replace it.is retrogression got to take long 4 years? because i wanted to accepted the offer and while they are processing, il be working in other country?what do you think? can you forsee any problems in the future?

one couldnt really predict if one passed the nclex after the exam. the number of scores do not dictate if one will pass or fail. im just fortunate to pass and end up early at 75. :yeah:

here are some of the stuff I can share.In my working environment,it houses 43 patients, 1 charge nurse and 2 bedside nurses making nurse:patient ratio considerably big.I arrive at my area, 30 minutes of time so that I would have time to review my patients and doctors' orders.with many patients to attend, i learn to prioritize, patients that needs to be seen first. I also make sure that nursing care be done in 1 patient before proceeding to another. I also manage my time. for example at 8 am-take VS,give medications. 10-turn patients, read orders...12 -cbg monitoring..etc etc..do anything that you can do in one time so that you wont end up rushing everything to be done at the end of shift.remember you have only 8 hours to do everything.:up:
