  1. When I had my clinical at the hospital, I carried tons of papers on a clip board or a small note pad, but these are cumbersome, easily disorganized, and could cause cross-contamination. My last clinical period I noticed that a lot of nurses had single pre-made sheet of paper they made notes on. It was good enough to accommodate all their patients. I'm having trouble making mine. I don't know what I should have on it or shouldn't. Or the best way to save space. Or even the program to use. Can anyone help me create my own or post some templates.

  3. I'm a student and my teacher is going to have us take on three patients at once, to get us ready for our preceptors. Now, I know three patients is nothing to you pros, but its a daunting task for me. How do you plan your day to be most efficient?
  4. Let her do has much as possible! I have shadowed some nurses and they do everything for me, which is bad because I need to gain confidence with experience. At times, they'll ask me to do something like an NG tube placement or even suction and I'll show a little hesitation or pause, trying to recall my simulations in lab, build up some courage, but this signals them to take over and do the procedure for me. Not helping me at all. Be positive and quiz her a lot. She'll appreciate it. We, students, look to you for guidance and as potential role models. And we are all stressed out, so a little encouragement, help hints, and teaching go a long way!!! Good luck!!! and have fun with it
