please, do not give up! i cannot imagine what you are going through...what helped me during my boards were to do 100 kaplan questions a day, broken up 50 in the morning then reviewing rationales, the 50 at night for 4 weeks. The rationales are the most important aspect in understanding what the boards want. It would seem that you know content of the material, its now how to apply the content to the test. I know kaplan online trainers were expensive, but it surely helped me tremendously during the NCLEX. The questions were very similar to the boards, but in my opinion, were harder than the NCLEX. Dont give up, you went through school, clinic, and nursing instructors. you will pass!

took my boards today, stopped at #75, and got the good pop up! i may have done a little preemptive celebrating, but by the way this thread has been going, i have passed! thank god for guiding me through this rough patch. it was a long hard road, but i know that it will be worth it! good luck to everyone who partakes in this endeavor and has the courage to take this exam! you all can do it!

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. I just came home from Christmas from my uncles. 4 of the family members are nurses and the consensus of the party is yes! go for it! but so many factors play in this decision. high risk for me. yes i do make a pretty good salary, but i cant see myself being an systems administrator (IT Dept) for the rest of my life. i need fulfillment in my career and IT is not doing it. I want to work in oncology or pediatrics. Oncology for the personal reasons or pediatrics because children are great! Maybe borrowing more money will be the final choice for me. I already owe a good amount from my other degree, i just want to minimize my loans! So yeah im in a bind! I have to make a pros and cons list. I know nursing school is worth it!

Whats up everyone? I just got in a nursing program but have alot of financial responsibilities. i need to work and go to school so i know its going to be tough. i have other financial responsibilities like car, mortgage, old student loans, and etc. my work doesnt allow night time or part time work. what i got a month and a half to prepare or deny the acceptance. What to do? maybe wait for next semester...=(

i am 30, starting my pre-reqs this fall. hopefully done with them all by spring 2008.

just wondering if its a good idea because my previous degree was more business oriented rather than science oriented. I know I will be doing ALOT of reading and research on the side just to comprehend the basics of both subjects....=/

Whats up everybody? I have a B.S. In network communications management. So most of my prereqs are completed except for the sciences. What do you guys think of taking Anatomy and Microbiology at the same time? Am I stretching myself too thin with this schedule. These are the only 2 classes i am taking for the fall.

Exact same situation i am in. LPN > RN seems like the best way to get accustomed to my needs. Time restraints, taking your prereqs might suit you better. I know right after i pass my NCLEX-PN, i will apply to all the ADN RN programs around my area. Even if it takes me a year or so to get in a bridge program, i gain experience in between the time it takes me to be accepted.
