we were taught to use Dr. Time dose route time individual medication expiration date and never forget to document!

I am taking these courses starting Jan 5th a & p 2 a & p 2 lab Nutrition then winter quarter Microbiology Then NS in Fall 09!

I start NS in Fall 2009!! I can't wait but also really nervous! :uhoh21:

Hi, I too have been where you are today...feeling overwhelmed at even the thought of math! I even thought maybe nursing wasn't for me because of all the math involved, but I was dedicated to become a nurse...somehow...someway. I started out in pre algebra, to algebra to stats. As long as you write down everything your professor writes down on the board, you will always have an example to look back to when your doing your homework. I know that they give out lots of homework but you really need to do every single math problem they have given you to do. Plus some! If you do the homework it will help you understand how to go about solving them. Just take it a one step at a time and you will do fine! Try not to think about algebra or stats right now and just focus on pre algebra. Another thing to think about is that stats is nothing like algebra...so if you hate algebra you may like stats, cause it is just probability. Anyway...don'k know if I was able to help or not but good luck to you and YOU CAN DO THIS!!

no...I didn't see that. I went back to the page with the list of threads and it says: RN's getting laid off. I supe hope it doesn't say RN's getting laid! If so, I didn't mean for it to say that. :uhoh21: Edited to add: OMG...I just seen where you seen it! It just automatically took the off....off. lol

Thanks for all the replies...I am definitely going on with nursing, it was just a shock to me that nurses are getting laid off. I have wanted to be a nurse ever since I was a little girl. Maybe the reason for some of the layoffs are that people who don't have health care insurance (I am one of them, I self pay) have to go to the hospital for whatever reason and can't pay for the bill. So if the hospitals are not getting the money from their patients then they would have to make some cuts? Makes some sense I guess. I dunno...just an opinion.

I just heard at my school yesterday that RN's in our area hospital's are getting laid off! I have never heard of RN's out of work. How is it in your area? Anyone ever heard of this happening? I have to say, this is kind of discouraging information while your struggling through all the pre reqs and soon nursing school. TIA!

I have applied and have been accepted into a nursing program where I will start classes in Fall 09! Only 2 more quarters of pre reqs and then I'll be ready to go! I still have to take A & P 2, Nutrition and Micro. Good luck to all of you!
