I have one more question! If I purchase my insurance today, and in a year or two I receive notice that I have been named in a lawsuit for an incident that happened in the past six months - before I purchased my insurance, am I still covered?

I too have heard this exact same argument. In fact, at my hospital's site orientation, our risk manager was asked about insurance and she said that they recommend you not getting your own insurance, because the hospital covers you, and it will just bring attention to yourself. Lawyers will be more likely to name you personally in the suit if you have insurance, because they can get more money out of you. Because of this, I haven't purchased my own insurance, but now I am thinking it would be a good idea. Are there any companies in particular that anyone would recommend?

The staffing level really depends on your facility. I was a tech in a NICU in Oklahoma, and the nurses had 3 Level II or stable feeder growers and no more then 1-2 Level III or critical babies. I moved to Florida after graduation, and am an RN in a NICU here in Florida, and nurses have 5 Level II babies and 2-3 Level III babies! And I would say that I would take no more then these numbers because they are very busy assignments. So it really depends on your facility, and it is definitely something you need to ask about in an interview! Good luck!

My username is the one that i use for everything, but I can't remember if I picked it out originally, or if they gave me one and I changed it to something I could remember! Try your first and last name together in all lower case letters, or try any username that you could think of that you would use! Hope you figure it out! It must be so frustrating not knowing!!!!

The number that I found on the pearsonvue website is not a 900 number but is a 1-866 number (please see link below). Will that work on your phone? You can also contact them via email, but that takes 3-4 business days. You could try to look in your email inbox for emails from pearsonvue that would have your username in them. Hope this helps! When I took my NCLEX, they gave me a small eraseable whiteboard and marker to do write on if needed. They said if I filled it up to not erase anything, just raise my hand and they would get me a new one. I didn't need to use it though, because I had no calculations. I'm not sure if this is how they do it in every state. I took mine in Florida. Good luck!!!

I took the NCLEX on July 30th, and had quite a few medication questions. They were mostly about side effects, nursing implications/considerations, therapeutic effects, and I had a couple of questions on the action of drugs. As far as doses or therapeutic blood levels, I would know that for Digoxin and Lithium. For me, it was most helpful to study the categories of medications. It is impossible to try and memorize individual drugs!! Hope this helps! Good luck!!!

yes, the kaplan questions are very similar to the questions on the nclex! it was a great resource and really prepared me for the test!

I used Kaplan also. I did about 930 of the Qbank questions and my average was 65%. My scores on the 7 Qtrainers ranged from 60-66%. I got a 67% on my diagnostic test and a 72% on my readiness test. I passed NCLEX the first time in 75 questions. I used the Kaplan complete online course, and they said that for the Qtrainers they want you to get 65% or above, and on the Qbank 60% or above. Kaplan helped me immensely!! Their questions are very similar to NCLEX. Good luck!!!

Hello, I am a new grad who just started a position in a level III NICU. I am wanting to subscribe to a NICU journal and I was wondering which would be the best for me as a new grad. I have heard of associations like the National Association of Neonatal Nurses that have journals, but I am not sure which would be the best. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

We started out with around 50, and 38 graduated on time. Some left the program all together, but most are graduating this next year.

I'm working in a Level III NICU.

1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX? 75, and I passed!!! 2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course? I did Kaplan's Complete Online course, which included the course book, diagnostic and readiness tests, content and question videos, the Qtrainers and Qbank. I used the online vs. classroom course because I wanted to go at my own pace. 3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)? Yes, ATI 4. How long did you wait for your results, or are you still waiting? I waited 48 hours and found out via Quick Results. My name was not on the state board of nursing website until Friday morning (I tested on a Monday). 5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed?) I was in total disbelief and was so certain that i had failed. I had my husband and family miserable for 2 days because I was so sure I had failed!! 6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX? Yes!
