  1. last year they gave us our ranking when we went to the registration counter with our liscense...they wont tell you over the phone...and that was after they sent us our letters....we had ours at the end of march...i remember how hard it was waiting....hang in there...happy thoughts :wink2:
  2. hey...im in 1720 in the mcc rn program...dont let people scare you....it isnt any harder than A&P....the information is easy to understand its just the amount of it that can be difficult....some people have a problem with the critical thinking questions....but thats the whole thing with nursing, its not just memorizing information, its knowing how to use that information and being able to put all the pieces together....im sure youll do fine...just dont listen to negative people....happy thoughts :)
  3. buy the study guide and know the appropriate sections....thats all i studied and i got a 96 last year....i felt like the test was pretty easy...the only part you cant study for is the general knowledge which was pretty basic....if you know that study guide inside and out you should do really well
  4. its nice to know im not the only one thanks for all the encouragement
  5. Some of the work we have to do just seems overwhelming right now. I hope crying dosen't become a pattern:o. Although it did feel good when I was done. I have a feeling things won't get any easier either . Just wondering if there are any new nursing students who can relate or if I'm just a big baby
  6. biblio.com if they are sold out....because they only had 3 when i checked then this website has it also...its actually a few dollars cheaper 54.24....in the search on these websites just put in author(nester) name (microbiology 5th edition) and it will come up
  7. abebooks.com this website is selling it for $55.60 right now...have fun shopping :)
  8. i bought an international edition book for that class this summer....it cost $40 its a lot cheaper because its made outside the U.S...the only difference in the book is it is soft cover....that is if its still the same book....microbiology a human perspective 5th edition by nester....another tip is if you my Dr. Joe i wouldnt worry about the book....i never opened mine because his tests came straight from lecture....if its someone eles i cant offer advice
  9. i cant wait to pick it up so i can see what to expect for the first 8 weeks...i also watched the sentimental women video...it is outdated....i found it interesting to see what struggles the nursing profession has been through:uhoh3:
  10. dont let people scare you about the hesi....its really easy....i got a 96 and only studied the study guide that i bought at hesi.com ......and i would sign up as soon as possible to get the day you want....i went into the hesi test feeling like i was going to throw up because people had me so scared and i came out laughing....my friend who took it with me got a 99.5 and we are just average joes who have been out of school for over ten years....im sure youll do great
  11. X is awesome....i would suggest trying to get him if possible...i had him for patho this summer....he made a 6 week intense class easy to understand and fun....i have seen the X teacher you are talking about....she never smiles and is hard to understand....maybe its just me though....i struggle with understanding people with X....that will make it fun when it comes time to speak with docs since a lot are of other nationalitys
  12. i had a pda already also and got the skyscape package....at the seminar i ask the lady with the glasses sitting at the desk lol....cant remember her name....not terry the other one...anyways ....i told her i had a pda already and she said if you already had one they wouldnt of course force you to buy theirs...and theirs would already be loaded with all the programs....so im sure as long as you have programs that are similar to theirs it will be fine....for instance a medical dictionary....there are tons of different ones and they are all basicaly the same thing
  13. whip out the red panties lol....no they will not be a problem....the material is thick ans also a darker blue color
  14. i just went back and looked at the measurement chart and had forgot that my measurements for the shirt fell into the petite catorgory but i went with the xs instead....man im glad i did....i couldnt imagine trying to fit into what they said i should....
  15. im 5 ft 8 in and weigh 120....i ordered extra small pants and top but got the talls in the pants....i can barely shimmy the pants up over my hips but once i get them over they fit ok....and if you saw me youd say what hips lol?...i have no butt and no hips :) ....my hips are a 36 and acording to the measurments they should be fine....they even have elastic on half the band and i still had to yank it up....the shirt fits fine once i get it over my head lol....the whole seems way to small....all and all once i get them on they look good....i think the hip measurement is the biggest issue....and for anyone who is near 5ft 8 in i would get the talls...the order form says if you are OVER 5 8 but i am so glad i got them ...they come right to the floor...i looked at scrubs my friend got that wernt longs and i would of had 4 inch high waters :) my only other advice is dont forget you need a patch for all the shirts you order and the lab coat
