Hello all,
Just trying to inquire about a nursing program that doesn't require the TEAS for my sister. She has taken the exam 3 times and keeps getting the same score, not a passing score. She is starting to feel very discouraged. I told her to ...

Thanks for posting this and to everyone else for their advice. I am also trying to figure this out for myself and am leaning towards the accelerated BSN.
Hello everyone. Can anyone tell me what the basic nursing school prerequisites are for most nursing schools? I do not know where I want to go yet, so I am not following any specific school's requirements. So I just need to know what are the things th...
Hello, I am thinking of pursuing online schooling to get my BSN and wanted to know if there are any programs for people who are not already an RN or CNA. I do not have any type of training in this field already. I only have a BS in public health. Do ...

thanks to all for the advice. However, I am not looking for an accelerated program since I am working right now. Also, I am aware that everything can't be online. I don't mind doing clinicals, I just mean for when I start out and do regular coursewor...
I'm really terrible at chem, bio and all those sciences. Sometimes I wonder if I can even do this. I'm a senior pre-nursing student in college and am failing chem class right now. i'm usually borderline failing in these courses. I'm even beginning to...

There has to be a middle ground. If a person wants to work, they have no choice but to choose a 4 yr program? I believe I can work and still complete a program in less than 4 yrs. I may just have to do an accelerated program and find the time to work...

Hi blueindigo. I believe the main difference is that CNM's have a core focus on women's GYN health as it relates to pregnancy and birth and also focuses on infant care. WHNP's provide care care for women from the time of menarche into adulthood, incl...
Hello. I am trying to decide between a career as a CNM or a direct-entry midwife. I know there are some differences between the two and I was wondering if anyone can expand on this. I read that CNM spend a lot of time doing other things like GYN and ...
Hello all. My ultimate goal is to become a CNM. However I do think doula work is a great way for a midwife to develop the skills to emotionally support mom. I would like to attend a doula training but don't know if I should certify. For someone who'...

It was my understanding that all nurse-midwives and cnm training programs follow the midwifery model of care rather than the medical model. Yes they are nurses, but they are midwives as well. So, to be clear, all cnm's and cnm programs do not follow ...
Hello, I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the midwifery part of your nurse-midwifery program was like? I really like the curriculum followed my non-nurse midwives and was wondering if it's generally the same for nurse-midwives. What kinds of ...

I would love to attend the yale program. It seems like you'd be done a lot sooner compared to other programs. The only thing is location. I do not want to have to relocate to go to school, which is why I am looking at the Georgetown program.

thanks for the information about the yale program. It sounds like a great program. So during the prespecialty year, are you doing general clinicals like you would in nursing school? And then you become an RN and begin pursuing your specialty? You sa...

Thanks for the advice. I guess it is typical. I guess it isn't so bad. I could learn to like that aspect, especially if it is a break from being on call all the time.

thanks for the replies. CA to DC i have a lot of the same worries about distance learning that you have stated. But I guess if you are motivated enough it works. Can anyone answer whether it is generally cheaper?
