If you have a psychiatric hospital or psych units at local hospitals apply to those. I work at one and they hire lots of new grads , also look for student nurse jobs. As a last resort could you borrow some additional student loan funds to help you with living expenses. Good luck to you.

I start my CNA/GNA class in just over a month. I will be going 5 days a week for 15 weeks. I have to wear royal blue tops and bottoms every single day (no cute designs or pretty colors ) What type of scrubs do you like to wear? I bought a pair at Walmart for $12 but there are no pockets on the pants and just a breast pocket on the top, and the fabric has no type of stretch to it at all and doesn't seem very durable. Will there be a lot of bending? for example When learning CPR will the "patient" be in a bed or will I have to get down on the floor? Just trying to decide if it is worth the extra money for more comfy scrubs? TIA!

Hello, I am planning to start CNA classes this Fall which will lead to me being a CNA/GNA by December. Would it be possible for me to take additional classes/training to become a Medical assistant? Or are these two totally different career paths? I have zero experience working in the medical field and would like to "get my toes wet" to determine if this is something I want to peruse further. I am trying to decide between an Associates degree Nursing program and a accelerated second degree BSN program. My first Bachelors degree will be in social work (graduating in May). What do you all think? Are there jobs for Associate degree nurses? The Associate degree program is so much cheaper than the accelerated BSN program and I would be able to take 2-3 classes as semester as opposed to 5 a semester if I go for the BSN...

I have no experience in the medical field but am considering going to school to become a RN as a career change. Do you think working as a CNA will give me an idea of what it would be like to work as a RN? Also, what are the typical starting salaries for someone who is a new CNA? I live in Maryland.

Hello, I will be earning a bachelors degree in social work in May. My plan was to go directly to grad school and get a Masters degree in social work but i am a 34 year old single mom with two children and I am worried about the low pay/lack of jobs. I was always torn between majoring in social work or nursing but chose social work and am now feeling some regrets. My university offers a 2nd Bachelors degree in nursing program that would take about two years of full time study because I need to complete the prereq's (A&P 1 and 2 and microbiology). Another option would be to get an Associate's degree which would still take about two years but i would be part time. What are your thoughts/opinions on this? I will be graduating with just under $15,000 in student loan debt which worries me also. The Community College tuition would be much cheaper. I want to make the right decision.
