  1. Hello sam1998. I noticed this post of yours was about a year ago. Are you working as an RN now? When you were applying to other hospitals while working as a CNA with your RN license, did you list your current work experience as a CNA on your applications? I am just wondering because I am in the same boat you were going through. Will the other hospitals you're applying to look at that wrong with you working as a CNA with your RN license and may not consider you as a potential candidate for their hospital?
  2. Hi Traci and everyone else on here! Good luck and stay focused!! My prayers are with yalls!!
  3. Hi everyone. I'm glad I came across this thread. I will be taking the NCLEX-RN in March and I know it seems a little too far away from now, but I am a bit scared! I believe that praying really played a big part for me in getting through school. So I know that the Lord will strengthen my spirit, mind, and body to do well on the exam. To everyone: have faith in yourself and the Lord. As my sister said to me, "God's way is that we have faith - believe Him for it, then we receive what we're believing Him for. Believing is receiving." Good luck everyone and God Bless!
  4. I'm so strongly for keeping myself healthy especially when you're in school! I religiously went to the gym at least 3 times a week after my first semester in school and it helped me a lot in controlling my stress and my body didn't feel so sluggish in compared to when I didn't work out during my first semester in nursing school. Thumbs up for exercising!!
  5. No way ... you're never too old to go back to school! My mother went back to school for nursing when she was in her early 50s and did so well in all her classes. It's been about 10 yrs since she finished school and she's still working! She loves her job. I'm sure you will too. Please don't think you're too old. I'm sure you'll meet other people in your class older than you, but that shouldn't matter b/c age is just a number. Good luck!! :wink2:
  6. Hi tommsbomb! Well, you've made it this far and successfully passed so all you need to do is believe in yourself that you'll pass this last semester. You have it in you! I'm sure you know how to prioritize your time by now, so you'll be able to survive. I actually just finished my 4th semester about a month ago and I know how you're feeling! But believe me, you have to just focus on that goal and be positive with yourself! Don't doubt yourself! Even if that means sacrificing your time to hang out with friends, sleeping in, etc ... it's only 16 weeks that will go by quick and after that then you can celebrate! YOU CAN DO IT!! Good luck!
  7. Yes. I'm totally feeling burned out! I have a week and a half left and I have so many things to do before graduation. Hang in there though. We're almost done. After Dec 19th I'm celebrating!!
  8. I think it's normal to feel this way especially when you're almost done. I'm feeling the same way as well! I only have a week and a half left of preceptorship and I can't shake off the feeling that I might screw up and mess up my chances of graduating. But we both need to stop and think about how far we've gotten so far. We've been through so many obstacles to get where we are now and we were able to accomplish them all. Just a few more days ... hang in there. You will do fine and pass with flying colors! Good luck.
  9. WHOO HOO!! You're almost done. It is difficult and I can totally relate. Right now I'm doing my preceptorship in the ER and I'm so stressed out. But just a few more weeks and we'll be done! Congrats for getting this far and good luck!!
  10. Clearly you want to pass, so with all your hard work and determination YOU WILL SUCCEED!!! I would stay in the class! So study harder!! Good luck!
  11. :ancong!: Good luck with NCLEX. I'll be taking mine in Jan so I hope I'll do well. Update us!
  12. I don't know where you're (carter1228) hearing this from, but I graduated from ELAC and I totally disagree with you that ELAC's program is horrible. The teachers are great. They are very helpful and professional. The only relationships I built with my instructors were on a professional level and never on some buddy/buddy thing that you're thinking of! It could be laid-back if you want to pass with the minimum, which is 76% to pass each class. But it was never laid-back for me and the majority of my class. I was successful to have A's in all my classes from my hard work and determination. Each school is different and I would never put down any school like how you did! But anyway, GOOD LUCK TO YOU pispis33!!
  13. Hang in there. I had a clinical teacher just like that. I cried a few times during clinicals and as vashtee said "it's just like bootcamp," it actually is like bootcamp. I feel like some clinical instructors do this to try to break down the students and see who will actually toughen up and stick through it. I think some instructors who are like this are trying to prepare you for the "real world" where you will encounter many different personalities that will frustrate you even more. You'll get through this!!
  14. Yay. Congrats. I am too in the same situation. I am actually doing my preceptorship and will be pinned on Dec 19th. Will be taking NCLEX in Jan, so wish me luck. Good luck thekingandhislady and study hard for NCLEX!! Good luck to everyone else and hang in there. It will soon come!
  15. Before applying to nursing programs, I had a BS degree. I am now finishing up my ADN program and it was a better choice for me. I saved a lot of money. Good luck!!!
