I have kind of an embarrassing question. What are Guardrails drugs and/or Guardrails fluids? Thanks

This is quite confusing because it has different considerations from different books. 1. When calculating IV flow, should the result be round up? EX: should it be 40 ml/hr or 40.1 ml/hr if the result after calculation is 40.14. 2. Generally when to round up? When to round down? What should be rounded and what should not be? Thanks

Just make sure that the load of work is reasonable, that every RN does not just dump their dirty work on the CNA. It is supposed to be a team. Remember that.

1. First attempt(feb 2011): I studied with Kaplan Review book only. I was not Quite ready. Result: failed 2. 2nd attempt: Kaplan, Saunders, La charity. 3. 3rd attempt: same material but I added KAPLAN Q BANK. I used it 95% of the time. Good material. Around 1150 questions. Keep doing the questions. When you complet all questions, go back with a not book. Read the rationale question by question; write down What you think is a good finding. Numbers your not from 1 to ...... Those notes will be the best review material to use the last 2 weeks going to the exam. Good luck!

Did try the pearson vue trick? keep in mind that with CA, you never know when youll get your results. If you dod the trick, at least you will have an unofficial result. I am a foreign nurse too. Took my NCLEX-RN for the 3rd time on Friday. Hours later I tried the trick and got the good pop up. I have been checking the CABRN website since. Nothing yet. Last time it was updated was Nov 5th. I am hopping tonight they will do something.

took the nclex-rn yesterday and getting the bad pop up. I guess I failed. So down.

I am a foreign nurse. I have not practice nursing since 2006. But I work as a Patient Care Tech right now. Today, I took the nclex-RN and did the Pearson vue trick shortly after the test and got the bad pop up. The Computer shut off at 76. I think I guessed most questions. As a foreign nurse, the hardest part is pharmacology. Can anybody give me some advice on how to prepare well for the next time I take the test; around April. I want an input from people that went thru the same path.

I just got approved by CA BRN to sit for the Nclex-RN after waiting for 3 years. Issues with paperwork. I am a foreign trained by the way. I registered for the exam in February but my problem is the pharmacy part. My weakness is that my original nursing education was in French and most medecine have different names here in the US. Has anybody been in the same situation? Any advice would help a lot. Thanks, Manou

How did you study THE LAB VALUES part for the Nclex exam? I feel like it is a lot to learn and besides, the numbers changes from book to book.

i got the job at UW medial center!!!!!!! Received an email yesterday telling that everything went well, that I was an excellent candidate and let me with a list of 4 choices: 1. 7SE MED/SURG ONCOLOGY, GYN & UROLOGY 2. 6NE GENERAL MEDECINE UNIT, TELEMETRY 3. 5NE CARDIOLOGY, CARDIAC SURGERY TELE 4. 4SE MED/SURG, TRANSPLANT, GENERAL SURGERY, DIALYSIS AND TELE I am leanning towards the last choice.

They contacted my references yesterday and today, so hopefullly I would get a call back sometime soon to let me knowthe outcome. Fingers crossed

Uw medical center is a hospital on his own too. As big as his sister hospital HMC. It is located by the UW huskies stadium. It was voted the 12th best hospital in the us as well as 1st best family medecine hospital in the US.

how did your interview go? I had mine with a panel of 6 people for all nursing depart. I think it was ok. They told me that it my take up to a week to get back to me. Dont know if i would get hired but it was a good experience.

I appied for the candidate bank/patient care tech at UW. I already had the phone interview and was asked if I would interested on working day shift if hired. Where did you appy?

HI, i want to hear from people who went thru this. i started my application for licensure with NYBON going thru CVS first. CGFNS got easily my credentials from my nursing school but the ministry of health have been ignoring the letters sent first by CGFNS and then NY. For probably, a form to be filled out by the ministry. They refused to cooperate. Instead of filling out the form the decided to SEND a copy of my nursing degre and also a statement signed by the human ressources director. I tried to convince them to follow what NY want but they refused and told me that they would not do anything else. I think that even if NY send another letter, they are not going to answer. I spoke with the BON today and expained what I was told but I am really anxious. I do not know how this would play out for me I am so frustrated. I have been in the process for so long(2years in Nov) By the way, i have a 2 years Registered nurse degre from my country and I am now a green card holder. Thanks!

how many years of nursing school did you have before coming to the usa?

i have posted several time about my cause and nothing still seem to go the way i want. i applied on nov 2007 for licensure in NY state. I wennt thru cgfns/cvs. the asked for my douments from my contry. they did not have any problem with my school ut with the ministry of helth, it has been rocky. first they did not want to confirm my license because according to them if they keep doing that a lot of people are going to leave the country. Finnaly the filled out some paper but made some mistake with my license number. Since CGFNS waitted for a long time, they did wrap up my file and send it to NY. when i vsisted my cgfns profile, it said : report issued meet all requirements for the program even though there were mistake in some part. A few weeks later NY contacted me by email and asked me to send my nursingdiploma and my license copy. What I did. Today I called and I have been told NY IS SENDING ANOTHER letter to my ministry of health. Isthis a good sign. I have been in the process for so long and I am becoming desparate. I do not want to go thru this and be denied at the end the right to take the test. I hold an associate degree in Nursing from west Africa. Is this a good sign? SHOULD i EXPECT ANYTHING GOOD?

Hi silverdragon, I know that the entiere process was suppose to take only at the most 6 months but I was lucky that I got to talk with my case manager when they could not get my ministry of health to send my paper. They made me a favor waitting one year before sending it to NY. i STARTED THE PROCESS NOV 3 OF LAST YEAR. My case manager was sweet to me. She told me that I t is not my faute and she is going to hold up on my application til they get a response. She even sent the last letter via UPS and even emailed me the tracking number. That is why I said I was lucky
