How Hard Is A&P1?
The best advise I can give you is memorize, memorize, memorize! Definitely go over your notes every single day and night like clock work. Also, get some tracing paper and draw your bones, organs, etc. and label them over and over so that you'll know them with your eyes shut! I'm not trying to scare you but it's just alot of information. I took A&P 1 in the summer online and it was very fast but I made a B on it. I liked A & P 2 better but I took it in the Fall of last year, so I had more time to take it. But like I said, if you study and apply yourself, you'll do good. If you need any help, I have some notes and powerpoints that someone sent me that are very helpful. Good luck!! Konnie

State exam tomorrow!!!
Bebi, My prayers are with you girl!! I wish I was as far as you are with mine. Heck, I haven't started with mine yet. I currently work in the ER Business office. I love it but I am also taking my pre-reqs for RN. I would love to be an RN one day but I think I'd be a better one if I were a CNA first. Don't you think? I have checked around with the schools here and they only do the night classes and that's where the problem is, I work from 6:30p till 5:00a. So that knocks that in the head. I have been thinking about just putting in my transfer for a CNA on one of the floors but I don't know. My hubby wants me on day shift. I've tried to tell him that I'll just have to go right back to nights if I get accepted into the nursing program next fall. So what good would that do? I could use this time to get trained for CNA and not have to pay for it!! Well, enough about me, I know you have your own worries!!! Good luck tomorrow and God Bless!!! My prayers are with you!!! I have an A&P 2 test coming up on Thursday, so if you don't mind, say a little prayer for me!! LOL.....let us know how you do ok!! I think you'll do great!! Just think positive!! Konnie:saint:

oh ye uninformed... this is why er nurses "don't care"
Ohhhh!! This is a common thing EVERYWHERE! I work at a hospital in the ER in Ms and I can assure you we get "crazy" calls everyday of the week. And like the others have stated here, 99% of the "crazy calls" don't have insurance or they are on Medicaid. Then what ticks me off is, they want to come in and talk really ugly to the staff when they get there. I agree with the poster, I can't remember which one it was, if there was a $100.00 copay, regardless of whether you have insurance, assistance or whatever, I think it would stop alot of this crap!! We could say, "How would you like to pay your copay for today, cash, debit, credit card or have it financed for you?" See, the problem is, we don't turn down anyone, because that's the law, so they know that it'll just get written off, especially if they don't have a job. And that one on the video that said, "My privacy won't go down!" Well, that is just hilarious!!! We have those too!!! LOL......

Got to make a "hard" decision if hired

Got to make a "hard" decision if hired
I've had my application in at the local hospital for several months now and I finally got a call (actually 2 calls)! I am sooo excited!! The first call I got was around 9:30 yesterday morning for the position of ER Counselor, well my interview was set up for 1:00 PM well, on my way out the door to go to the interview, I received another call from the hospital for another interview for a CNA!! (This is very rare because it is soooo hard to get on at this hospital) He wanted me to come yesterday for that interview also, but I had to explain that I was on my way out the door to the ER Counselor interview. So he told me to call him as soon as I got out of that interview. So I did and he set me up for today at 11:00 am for that interview....well both interviews went well.....Hours for the ER counselor will be 6:30 p-6:30 a....and that will be no problem for me. I asked about the hours with the CNA and he told me that he had several openings for that with all shifts, but he didn't want to go over the lady's head and hire me before she did because she called me first and he thought they would really want me with my work history because they were having trouble finding dependable help and with my work record, being on my previous job for 18 straight years, I have a solid record and besides, that job (ER) paid more money. Well, my thing is, I am going to start my pre-reqs in the summer for RN and I'd really love to be a CNA!! I really don't care about the money. The ER job pays almost 2.00 more an hour!! But money isn't an object to me....but I'd also just love to get my foot in the door of the hospital! I know I'm probably going on and on here but I'm soooo confused and don't know what to do. The lady that interviewed me for the ER job told me that if they decided to hire me and if I didn't like that job, after 90 days, I could always transfer to another department. Any advice here???? Please any at all will help me!!!! Thanks for hearing my crazy story!!!
