  1. bump!
  2. Has anyone applied to or currently attend the UTA MSN program? I've heard good stuff, and have applied, but still haven't heard anything. They said everyone will know if they were accepted or not by July 30th. That's a really long time to wait! If anyone is in it, what do you think about the program?
  3. They are about to go to a single color for nurses. Its going to be navy blue for nurses, and currently they are voting for techs.
  4. Well, I'm not a GN anymore, but when I started, I made 19.50/hr. I got a 1500 dollar sign on bonus, plus nclex fees, and a moving bonus. Then after my first year, I could get another 1500 for 1 year, or 2500 for 2 years. Baylor is a really great place to work. Good luck in nursing school.
  5. I couldn't help it...I was taking report on a transfer from Medical Center of McKinney, and I thought of this board and asked her if she liked it there. She actually had good stuff to say, so I dunno.
  6. I hate that you have to feel so bad about this decision. Commutes are killer. I commute 40 minutes, and sometimes that gets to me. If I still lived in Sherman, I would have no problem going to work at TMC or WNJ. Right now I'm just trying to get as much experience as possible before I move to a smaller hospital.
  7. Don't worry. Grayson is a really good school. Some people that didn't pass might be a little bitter, but I wouldn't worry about that.
  8. I completely disagree with your comment. I graduated from GCC, and got a good job at Baylor in Dallas. Most people that have heard of it say that they get really good nurses out of it, and I know that I'm a good nurse. My clinicals were great. All of my instructors had quite a bit of nursing experience, so I'm not really sure where you got your ideas from.
  9. I'm not a student anymore, but I would love to have a drug-a-day email. I hope someone can find one.
  10. We have some new grads on our floor that waited months to get jobs. I don't think it's a nursing shortage...just an experienced nursing shortage.
  11. oh gosh, our whole floor would need to change our jobs then. we go out for drinks after work quite a bit.
  12. haah it would help if i said where I went :) I went to Grayson
  13. sounds like you work where i do. that's happened to me quite a few times.
  14. I graduated from there. To get into the RN program, I had about a 3.4
  15. I hate faxed reports. I work on a med/surg/GI floor and got my report faxed. The orders are "Admit to ICU. DX: ETOH withdrawl" Before I can call the ER to find out what is going on, up comes a guy on a stretcher in full-blown DTs. I hate faxed reports.
