Excelsior college
I just enrolled at Excelsior for the LPN to AS RN program .They accepted all of my pre req but still need 2 credits of college math and 2,5 credits of humanities. Also did not get credit for any of my nursing courses ( I made it all the way up until the last med surg ) .They said it takes 4-6 weeks after enrolling to get your nursing credits because transcript will go to your nursing advisor ??Has anyone out there done this program ??I've been reading lots of reviews online and i'm kinda getting cold feet.Don't think I can go all the way through and then fail the CPNE.I failed the last med surg at my community college ,then my daughter became ill ,so never went back for my last 16 weeks !!!!Any advice or comments ,any specific study materals you would recommend???I really want my RN BADLY !!!!! Thanks so much !!!

Someone should warn people!!!
The situation in Delaware is really bad too the only place hiring newly graduated LPN's is the prison!!!They didn't help us at school when we graduated either. They had one job fair and not one place would even accept our resumes so disappointing!!!!!

Hi I know it's very confusing the way they work the admissions process. But you can take the NLN anytime it's offered I think you just need chemistry. You need to go on the DelTech website and hit programs then hit nursing and a special website for the nursing program will come up on there the schedule for the NLN will be posted.I urge you to take this as soon as possible because you need this to be eligible to even apply for the nursing program at all.The Terry campus accepts students twice a year,in August and Jan.The August clinicals are already full and I think the Jan. applications are due by August 22nd or 23rd.You can apply if you have all your pre req. done or if you have them scheduled for the Fall semester and pass them.Like I said it is very confusing, and they keep changing the rules.Good luck you can do it!!!!

Hi you need to take the NLN as soon as possible. You can check when the next one is on the college website. The whole process for the nursing program has changed, because of so many applicants. At the Terry campus you need to have Composition,A&P1,A&P2( a B in both classes) clinical math (DONE)also at least a B and then you can apply. You must apply each semester there is no longer a waiting list. You really need to talk to a nursing advisor.I ended up applying for LPN even though I have all my classes for RN done because of the competition for clinical seats.I got tired of waiting, then I'll apply for the Advanced placement RN program. It's a very tough program,so be ready!!!Lots of luck to you!!!
