  1. The app is closing today... let's all hope for good news in the coming weeks!
  2. Has anyone else heard back from Dameron yet? I realize the app is still open til the 21st..
  3. The recruiter I spoke to said they were planning on starting mid-November?
  4. The initial status was simply, "Your application has been submitted and will be reviewed yadda yadda." The last status was the one stating that my application had been reviewed, and that they were pursuing applicants with backgrounds "more closely suited for the position."
  5. I applied on 10/4. Are you a brand new grad? I actually graduated May 2011 with my BSN from SFSU, and have some non-acute RN experience as well ( I did not see anything explicit in the application description regarding graduating times or work experience though...
  6. Hello, Just posting a topic for Alameda County's rn residency application that had been up this past week. Last day to apply was October 12. Just curious if anyone else applied and had moved forward? I just received an e-mail/status change stating that I was no longer under further consideration. Hoping to hear from those who were moving forward and wondering if you would also post some basic stats? BSN, when you graduated, certs. etc. Thanks!
  7. Wow, nice! Having already worked for a year you totally deserve that interview. (:
  8. LoveAlwaysV, would you mind sharing some of your stat (ADN/BSN, certs, grad date, preceptorship, etc.)? Just trying to see what Santa Clara was looking for in terms of a competitive applicant. Thanks again! Sorry for the barrage of questions!
  9. Congrats as well! May I ask when they called you for an interview? Also, did you receive any sort of ranking? Thanks!
  10. Just a question for people getting interviews-- When you applied, did you request a specific unit in your cover letter, or did they match you based on where your preceptorship was gone? I know that depending on what you applied to (adult acute, adult critical, etc.) there were a variety of units...
  11. Great news! Can you share any of the tips your university career center provided in terms of revamping your resume? Thanks in advance!
  12. Took the NCLEX-RN 12/09.. name appeared on CA BRN today!!! Yay =D!!! Got the old "good pop up" as well..
  13. I just took the NCLEX-RN today...got the good popup, but it was the old one. I so hope this is a good sign!!
  14. Anyone apply to SJSU for the Fall '08 semester? I received my letter today and it looks like I got in! :)
  15. to be honest, i dont think there is a secret. it's just really more applicants than there are spaces.
  16. my friend spoke with the nursing office. apparently this year the competition was SO fierce that their range of accepted GPAs was 3.98 to 4.0!!! they turned away 3.95's *and* 4.0s!! craaaazy.
  17. i checked my mail today, and i was horrified when i saw the small letter; my heart was crushed, and i totally thought i wasn't accepted. admitting defeat, i opened it anyway, and to astonishment, it was a letter of acceptance!! omg, i'm dying here...i seriously did NOT expect that. I'm *IN*!!!!
  18. I'm still anxiously waiting for mine.... I'm so sorry you didn't get in though - it's just not fair. =/ What more can one do, really?? Are there other schools you've applied to at least? Also, do you know if I can call and ask about admission status?
  19. That happened to me, too! Booooo. Sigh, end of January...April seems so far off. Good luck to you though!!
  20. applied! anyone know when we'll be hearing back from sfsu?? aahh, im so anxious!
  21. So apparently if you're applying to SFState's undergrad BSN program, you don't have the option of applying to both the main campus and Canada's program anymore? During the application season last year, students were able to apply to both the main campus program and Canada's satellite program, but my friend just got off the phone with a representative for Canada who confirmed that you can only pick one to apply to this year. Has anyone else heard this yet? I think it's such a major bummer that they won't let us apply to both programs. Students last year had a better chance given the option to apply to both--it just doesn't seem fair that the current crop of applicants has to suffer from this change. :/ Anywho, just a little update in case anyone wasn't aware of this already/minor ranting on my part haha. G'luck with apps!
  22. I didn't want to repost this, so if any Kaiser students or soon-to-be Kaiser students can offer some help, that'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
  23. I'm pretty sure the bare minimum is at least 1 year in an ICU setting. I have heard of people applying and getting in before their first year in the ICU was finished up though.
  24. On their website it notes that you need an upper-div stats course...for those who were accepted/have applied/etc, did you all take an upper-div stats course? I have taken a lower div stats course already--as is required of the BSN program--so I was just wondering if I did in fact need to take another one. Also, they mention "nursing research" courses; what are those exactly? Thanks in advance!
