  1. hi,, sorry to hear about this. when i was a traveler and was assigned to m/s adultfloor i got floated to a peds/ adult overflow unit. before i got there i told them i would only take care of adult pts.... well got on the floor and the had more peds. than adult pt., wanted me to take peds. i said abosolutely not. that meant the charge rn had six peds icluding less than 1yr olds and i just had 4adults. i felt bad but stuck to my guns. told the supervisor the same. let me tell u, dose calculations and drips total didderence, med error could case a life and ur licence. if i were u i would stress getting appropriate cross train, no short cuts, real orientation to peds or start lokking for another stable unit or job. by the way... i did help that nurse out by taking vs on her peds. pt (we had no CNA). i was so unfamiliar with what vs are "normal" for peds. that was lerned in nsg school which i long since forgot.

hi u can also insist that ur company find a better housing complex. their hosing department should have better standards and choices. u need to speak up. u r giving them ur best and it should be the same. nothing says a good worker liike a place to come home to and relax

  8. hi i fist travel in 2003 with my hosband. loved it. anyway i recently convive a cowoker to do traveling after just being a year as a RN. she hesitated then took the plung. she went from sc to california, never being there before. she adjusted by having family come vist her. or she makes her schedule that during a six month she flew up for several days at atime. housing/ benefits/car rental good thing. no politics. just like being floated to a unit. some stAFF ARE GREAT. I TEND TO FIND TRAVELING IN NYC TEND TO DUMP ON TEHIR TRAVELERS, NOT WHILE I WAS IN FL AND CALI
