What hospital is this so the rest of us can stay away? They are out there. I didnt return to MUSC because other travelers made me and several other nurses that it was having problems like this. It actually worked out great for us since by waiting a great assignment came up. Hang in there and ask questions here before you take an assignment.

I also had the same problem with cross country. I finally walked on the second assignment. I had to fight to get paid. They charged me for everything. I havent traveled since. To top it off a nurse friend was going to travel and I told her to make sure she did not deal with the recruiter I had. they tryed to give her that recruiter and when she said she didnt want her they asked why and she told them that I had said not to use her and they proceded to tell my friend that there was no problem with the recruiter it was with the nurse. She then let them know how unprofessional they were and she would make sure to advise others to be aware. You definatly need to check out the recruiter. I am concidering traveling again and will use RN network. They come highly recommended by several nurses that are on assignments now with them. :)

I have to agree. People have really changed. I work in a Hospital in Cincinnati, Oh and we were all just discussing this same thing. we all agreed to that society has changed and the news media has made our jobs a nightmare. I am getting ready to go back in the field (homecare). Hospital nursing has just gotten to be to much. We have to many patients and all our hospital cares about is filling beds. Patients get no care anymore and the abuse you take from family members make you wish you never became a nurse. And I have always loved being a nurse:) I have stayed on as SST so I will do a day or two a month but sure will miss taking care of hospital patients:confused: My husband is also a nurse and works in long term care. I sure feel for you all. Families are the worse and are impossible with their demands. They are 25 to 1 on evening shift and sometimes more then that. Knowone seems to care any more . Makes you wonder where it will go from here. We all thought for a short while about a year ago that nursing here was turing around but that was short lived. It was just till some places found nurses that they could get to sign 2 year contrats.

you need to speak with a nurse attorney and the pharmacy should have records of the ok to fill the script. When you call a script in the pharmacy they know if they have a legal script or not. X is the pharmacist and filled the script saying he filled knowing it was not authorised by the MD he is in more trouble then you. That means he is dispencing meds knowingly without a script!!!!! Did you pick up the medicine. If so he is really in trouble especially if he is the one that called the MD to. This is interesting keep us informed.

All i hope is that the people that had there hand in the decision to not give the ky nurses ratio limits and the right to work only their shift they are scheduled for have a long hospital stay! You wonder why no one wants to work in this field anymore? Who would want to go to their job every day and not know if they were going to be able to leave when their assigned shift was over. You wonder why the young are not going into this field? How could you ever have any kind of life? If you have children try and find a day care or private sitter that is willing to watch your children just because the hospital says you have to stay another shift. We are suppose to be educated health care providers where does it make any sence that any human being is suppose to work 16 hr shifts at the drop of a hat, every other weekend and all the holidays. Put their personal life on hold every time the hospital says so. What kind of life is that. It is no life! w

I AM PROUD TO BE A NURSE! I just don't know if i could recomend it to any one?It is getting harder every day.

I worked for the Mercy systems in cincinnati and they tryed this same crap. We stood together and refused to be a part of their advertising ploy. Thanks to the majority standing their ground we don't do scripts! They even went as far as trying to make us go to classed for customer service.It was this big million dollar thing.You would never believe how far they went with this and the horrible amount of money that they wasted.Money that could have gotten our patients more nurses. The system now is in terrible finacal troble. Imagine that:) ! I just don't understand what is going on with nurses any more.Why have we allowed our field to come to this?
