  1. Thanks for the response. I created myself a calendar with all of the due dates for the MDS's as they come in...However, since I started the job with a backlog already it was difficult to ever get ahead and on task....Finally, two other people from the facility helped to complete the backlogged ones, and now I am into the week of 5/2/10 and almost caught up, so that I can start on the current week. It will be interesting to see if once I am caught up...whether or not I can actually complete all the ones I have due for each week...Thanks again...and if you have any other tips on gaining "SPEED" when completing them...please share....I noticed that the other people were going through them a lot faster than myself....LOL...thanks again!
  2. New MDS Coordinator. Taking over the position with MDS's that were already behind since April. More specific there are 16 ICF that were to be completed since April. I was originally told that SNF always takes priority, but the ICF coordinator is of course, saying that is "not" true. She said that basically, I only have to worry about SNF when its time for "billing". I need to know if there is a good way to "catch" up work that was already behind and in the future....how to decide when to work on SNF vs. ICF MDS's. Also, if anyone has tips on how to complete MDS's more quickly....I would GREATLY appreciate it !!!...Thanks in advance for your help!.....I am finding that I like the job and really want to stick with it and even learn all that I can....but need some insight and wisdom!!!
  3. First: You have to PRAY without ceasing and TRUST God with your life plan in HIS time. Second: For those who were NOT as fortunate to pass on the 1st try... You MUST face the harsh REALITY that there are NO SHORTCUTS in studying for this exam. You have to go through EACH system and DISEASE PROCESS (i.e. cardiac, endocrine, maternal, peds, etc.) Be sure to pay CLOSE ATTENTION to detail (i.e. a certain complication may be evidenced by a rash over the sternal area, etc.) Third: There are many companies and agents who serve to gain money by offering "strategies" for the exam; However, the essence of the NCLEX is virtually ALL knowledge and VERY LITTLE strategy. KNOWLEGE is the MEAL and STRATEGY is merely a CONDIMENT. Finally: BELIEVE and NEVER GIVE UP... if you are 34 yrs. old now, keep testing until you are 94. This is the level of DETERMINATION that is required. Now, having said all this: I am blessed to annouce that after 4 previous attempts, I have finally PASSED my NCLEX RN !!! PRAISE THE NAME OF JESUS !!! GLORY TO GOD !!! HALLELUJAH !!! Ng74, RN !!! :balloons::thankya: :tbsk: :clpty:
  4. Thank you very much. God Bless:saint:
  5. Thank you. I am being told by many that I have over-loaded my brain...but I don't believe that there's such a thing as studying too much..I am afraid that if I let up...I will forget what I need to know. Thanks again, for the encouragement. God Bless~ Oh..and I am only using one book this time. We'll see what happens:saint:
  6. No, unfortunately, I did NOT pass for the 4th time. I am trying to stay focused. I have a daughter with a chronic illness, and two other children, so I cannot really grieve like I want to, because I am trying to stay positive for them, but on the inside, I am heartbroken and exhausted. I have studied probably every book you can name, done about 10,000 questions, and have done Kaplan. Its not just that I WANT this...I NEED this for more reasons than one. I will NOT give up, because it was too much of a journey for me to even graduate, with my specific circumstances. I am believing that God will get me through this exam, just like HE got me through that tough nursing program, even with my circumstances. Its extremely hard, I would be lying if I said that it wasn't; but I will continue to press on... I am 34 now, I will be taking it until i'm 64, if that is what is needed. My husband is Military, which is tough, but he has also been VERY supportive, which is what I need right now. Oh, when I got my results this time, my daughter started crying and felt bad because "SHE was the one who brought the mail in"...that broke my heart to see her upset...so of course I had to explain to her that is was absolutely NOT her fault. She said she gets up to use the bathroom at night and sees me studying hard and long...only to keep failing the exam...and she does not understand. Anyway, I could go on and on, trying to make myself feel better...but in reality.... it is what it is. At this point I have no idea why I have not passed this exam...someone told me to try a different testing center next time...we'll see what happens...
  7. Congratulations~ Let us know how many questions, type, how long did it take you to complete the test? Good for you~ And Yes, God gets ALL the Glory~
  8. We'll all think positive...I'm waiting on my results too. I also, cut off at 75 in about 1 hour and 11 min. Stay positive~ God Bless~
  9. HoorahFLY: What state are you waiting for?...just curious...i'm waiting in VA, and I also took mine on 12/30. Cut off at 75, 2-3 SATA, 1 Math mcg/kg/min, took me about 1 hour 11min. to finish. I'm still praying.
  10. Think positive...Once you've done your best, that's all you can do...God will be with you, he has our plans~
  11. Well, at least you are aware of what may have happened...so you have an idea of what to change the next time you sit for the exam... Again, stay positive, you know that you have to keep going and take it as many times as you have to, in order to start your career...so relax, regroup, start studying to keep the info. fresh in your head, and you will make it, when God says so... God Bless~
  12. Sorry to hear that... I know that people usually do say 75 is usually a good outcome, but I also have failed before with 75, so I know it can go either way...Just trying to stay positive...This was my 4th attempt and i'm still waiting on my results... just curious: How long did it take you to complete the 75 questions and what type of questions did you have? Anyway, keep your head up and stay positive...if you don't give up...you WILL PASS at some point.~ God Bless~
  13. How long did it take you to finish the exam total? What kind of questions? Keep your head up, and press forward~
  14. Think positive~ God Bless~
  15. Congratulations...I sure pray that I join your bliss soon~ Still waiting on my results from my 4th attempt~ God Bless~
  16. That is true... it is all in God's timing!!!~ I am waiting on the results from my 4th attempt...Please pray for me~
  17. Thanks...it is difficult not to think about it, but I will continue to pray and wait on God... This exam is truely a mysterious one~
  18. I will be sure to give an update... being positive is great! Thanks~
  19. SATA-- Select all that apply... and thanks for your positive thoughts.. I wish you well~
  20. Thanks for the encouragement~:)
  21. Thanks... Boy do those words sound good... I pray that you are Right!! Just a little concerned about getting the ONLY math question that I had wrong.
  22. Good or Bad??? I only had about 2 or 3 SATA and only 1 math question-- mcg/kg/min (may have gotten it wrong)... It only took me 1 hour and 11 min... Please pray for me... This is my 4th attempt!!
  23. Typically, although i'm not absolutely certain, the higher level questions include questions more relative to "critical thinking" (prioritization, delegation, etc.); Whereas, the "easier" level questions are basic recall knowledge, comprehension, etc. You do make a good point on the issue of a question being considered "easy" only because one may know the answer. That's something to think about. I have taken it more than once too and I am currently waiting on my results as I speak. Anyway, keep your head up, regroup, and press forward. With God's help... you WILL PASS! :)
  24. Just wanted to know: Who got 75 questions pass or fail, how much time did it take you to complete the exam, any math? Thanks~
