Pbds/ob
When I did the PBDS at Swedish they told me that 70% of nurses don't pass... I just remember winging it and writing a lot of "notify MD"! Luckily I passed, but don't sweat it if you don't.

Learn To Say It Correctly!!
not a pronouciation thing... but hate it when people say, "Is she painful?"
- Things you'd LOVE to be able to tell patients, and get away with it.

Dog walker?
I agree with other posts... should not be the responsibility of nursing staff to take care of the dog.

New RN to ortho
I am starting my first nursing job next week as an RN on ortho. I am really excited, but very nervous about finally starting my career. I am just looking for some advice, insight, etc. I want to be as prepared as possible before I start, although I know I am going to learn SO much when I actually get on the floor! What basic things should I know as an ortho nurse? What are the top 20 meds given on an ortho floor? Any info that you could give me would be great.... Thanks! Kyle

I need to interview a nurse.... please help!
Hi there, I was hoping that I could find a lovely nurse on here to interview for my leadership class. I would be very grateful for any help! 1. What made you decide to go into nursing? 2. How many years have you been a nurse? 3. What makes you a leader? 4. What do you believe are qualities of a good nursing leader? 5. What is your style of leadership? 6. What makes a person a good follower? 7. What motivates you to be a good leader? 8. What do you like about being a leader? 9. What do you dislike about being a leader? 10. Do you believe that followers can become good leaders? 11. Do you believe that you need to be a good follower before you can be a good leader? 12. How do you handle disputes in the workplace? 13. What do you do toe relieve strees from your job? 14. Do you believe that your coworkers contribute to your success? 15. Is there anything that you would suggest to a new nursing graduate to help them succeed as a leader? Thank you so much! Kyle

TOP 10 Meds?
Hi... I was hoping that I could get some more help from you wonderful nurses. I am starting my last clinical rotation in the ER this weekend. I would like to know what you think are the top 10 (or 20) meds that are frequently used in the ER. I want to be as prepared as I can for this rotation, so I would like to make some med cards before the weekend. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you, Kyle
