  1. Worst test of my life. I cried when I got my results. I left thinking I had gotten about 3-4 right and the rest were guesses. I had one math question that I knew was right.
  2. One of my worst times, just to think back-I also worked in Psych. We had a lady who used to "pee" in paper cups and save them on her dresser. Well, one day, we went onto her room to make sure they were disposed of and clean it up and (of course it was her monthly time) she was drinking from the paper cups!!!! I almost lost it right there. I couldn't hardly look at her for a long time without stopping myself from vomitting.
  3. I am a LPN, in my last year of the RN program. I always thought for oxygen, unless you use only 2l/m via nasal canula, it should be humidified. Am I right, or can you use 4 - 6 liters also and not humidify? Also using a non-rebreather - can you use it for 10-15l/m and not use humidifier? Can a non-rebreather be used for 10l? Our instructors say one thing, then they're not sure and other RN's I work with all have different answers, and I can't find anything SET in Concrete to say when to use water and when to use a non-rebreather. Can anyone help?????? I had a patient on 13;/m and no one used humidified air with a face mask. When I asked about it, no one knew the answers or where to find any answers. Thanks.
  4. I used to work @ R. H. Deadman Hospital in north Dallas. :roll
  5. Most of the little old ladies I take care of in LTC want Tylenol at HS to relieve their aches & pains so they can get to sleep. I've used Tylenol PM and it works pretty good for me. I like to stay up late at night and if I have an early morning, I can't get to sleep.
  6. My most embarassing moment was years ago and I remember it well, to this day......... I had a patient just out of surgery-hemorrhoidectomy. the orders were to cath him if he doesn't void by 7pm. We tried everything, hand in warm water, running water in the bathroom, etc... Well, the moment of truth arrived and I had to cath him. Mind you , he was a black man about 6 ft. tall and around 30 years old. I was 29 and had been a nurse about 2 years. When I cleaned the end of the member and started to put the catheter in, it started growing, and growing and growing, and growing. I had a hard time keeping my jaw from dropping, so I could finish and get out of the room quick. I know I had to have turned red.
