  1. In my opinion, Gordon or Gibo are the only two feasible choices in the presidential lineup. The others are just..bleeehhh.. Anyway, this topic isn't even related to nursing, there are other more appropriate sites for this.
  2. It can be disheartening..come next board exams, another influx of newly registered nurses will join us, making it much harder for all of us..
  3. I agree with everything galvtexas said; it wouldn't be unpatriotic to be professional when it comes to the workplace, or any place for that matter when in the company of english-speaking friends.
  4. You're in MN right? And you don't have a visa?
  5. There's simply too many nurses here in the Philippines. I don't understand how people are still enrolling in nursing schools nowadays when there clearly aren't enough jobs to go around.
  6. Hi, just a quick question for nclex passers out there. Is the nclex result subject to expiration, like the IELTs? I'm having second thoughts wether to take the nclex or not due to the ongoing retrogression. Hoping for your thoughts regarding this matter. Thanks!
  7. So, any June 2009 board passers here have any luck finding a job yet?

Is the Prometric Exam a requirement for all Saudi-bound nurses? Or does it depend on the employer?
  9. Hi sashi_18! Me & zstsc are in the same situation; June board passer looking for work. Are you already there in Australia? Do you have any recommendations regarding which state to apply for?
  10. I second that. I really hate this particular trend in the Philippines, it's very similar to another word I dislike..."Nepotism'..
  11. I wasn't imposing anything, I just voiced my concern on the fact that out of all the nurses who have come to UK on this program, there hasn't been anyone (aside from nurseinuk's latest post) who have come forward on this forum to share with us there experiences there. I wasn't dissing the program nor imposing my opinion on others, & I certainly didn't mean to sound sarcastic. I was actually considering signing up for this too, but after reading this thread I have, as of now, decided against it. But will reconsider of course; nothing is set in stone And yes, I am fully aware of the nursing situation here in the Philippines and how hard it is to make a decent living here, and for a lot of us going abroad is the answer. I am one of those, and I'm glad that forums like allnurses.com are around nowadays that help us weigh the options available to us. Just because someone has an opinion different from yours doesn't make it less valid..It's just that, an opinion. Hopefully I've made myself clear regarding this & any misunderstanding..
  12. I'm concerned about this too. I mean, this program has been going on for quite some time, right? Why hasn't anyone who's already in the UK through this program share with us the good news..
  13. Thanks Julia! I just looked up Asian hospital on the web, it's located in Mutinlupa? A bit far from me (I'm from Bulacan by the way :wink2:) but I'm willing to relocate if that's what it takes...thanks again!
  14. Could anyone recommend a good training center for BLS, ACLS, EKG in Manila? Thanks!
  15. I've been checking out this thread, but I found it hard to get the information I need due to its size. Lol. I'm considering applying for Australia, I just passed the local board exam this June. Should I take the IELTS as the next step, or is hospital experience a main requirement also? I'm sorry if my question seems redundant. Hoping for a speedy reply, God bless!
  16. I just browsed through this thread, and this work-study program does sound fishy..To think that I was seriously considering this some time ago. Thanks to silverdragon & sharrie for the information! One of my friends is leaving for the UK next week on this program, & I'm hoping the best for her..
  17. I'm watching this thread too, thanks for putting this up maeriz!
  18. I think the government should increase funding for gov't hospitals so that they would have the resources to hire more nurses here. Plus, admission to nursing schools nowadays should be limited until the thousands of unemployed nurses here find a job. There's too much of a surplus of nurses here, & adding more to it just makes the problem worse.
  19. I'm really interested in working in Australia, however, as I said in my previous post I have no hospital experience whatsoever. I'm planning on taking the IELTS exam as soon as possible, what would be the logical next step afterwards?
  20. Thanks to allnurses.com for this very informative thread, I just passed the June 2009 board exam & really looking forward to working abroad considering the plight of nursing here in the Philippines. Is it possible to undergo the bridging program in Australia without hospital experience? I'm reading through this thread as I'm typing this, but it can be quite daunting, it's so huge! :=)
  21. I'd like to have some clarification on this...by TOR, do you mean Transcript of Records?
  22. hi, can you pm me the name of the consultancy firm? i'm quite interested. hospital experience is not required, right? thanks!
  23. Hi! My mother is a US citizen currently in California. Can my mother sponsor me so I can go there and work as a nurse? I'm over 21, married with a daughter here in the Philippines, & just recently passed the local licensure exam. I'm still undecided as to wether I should take the nclex (New York seems to be a good state, according to most of the replies in this thread), or wait for the retrogression to pass. Thanks!
