Hi, all! Sorry for not stating in my previous post that I am staying here in the US on spousal visa but I am not allowed to work yet thus my need for sponsorship. I have also just gotten my license card last week so now I am in the process of looking on working in a hospital. I wasn't just sure about what kind of visa they give nurses these days so thanks, all for the insight!

So here's another stop in my Journey to become a registered nurse...I've gone through the first step which is passing the NCLEX-RN (hoping the next steps will be a lot easier). What do I do now? I have applied for licensure in CA and have gotten my license no. but I am residing in MN. The top 3 states I am considering to work in are MN, IL & AZ. Here's what I need your guidance for (this forum has helped me in so many ways, I think it's better to hear it straight from my fellow nurses than calling some organizations' phones and get a "NO IDEA" kind of response on how to answer my questions): 1. I know I need to obtain Licensure through Endorsement for these States. I have no experience in working as a nurse and it has been over 5 years since I graduated. I read somewhere that I might need to take a refresher course but I need more details on this one. 2. Does anybody here know which hospitals in the States I mentioned offer sponsorship for foreign nurses? btw, I am from the Philippines 3. Does one still need a Visa if your hospital files an immigrant petition on your behalf? I am quite confused as to how this works. Thanks so much for any info you can share with me... stuck here p.s. right now I am reviewing for the TOEFL as I know this will be required of me someday. can anyone tell me if I would need to take courses on Basic Life Support and IV Therapy?

WELL! I couldn't believe it:eek:... just found out yesterday that I officially PASSED!!!!!!! no other feeling like it ...I was so used to failing and feeling frustrated, angry at myself & on the verge of giving up! It was my 3rd time to take it so I have no idea what else I could do had I failed again...I knew I did everything I could! I got the letter from the Ca BON the other day but was actually planning to open it right after the holidays, thinking if I failed, I wouldn't have to spend Christmas feeling down & disappointed (AGAIN!!!) But after learning about the PVT on this forum i tried it myself and got the "GOOD (REAL GOOD)" pop-up....:up:that gave me the boost and the encouragement to actually open the letter. Although people say it's a trick...it's just something that you do that helps ease the agony of waiting and kinda gives you hope! I am still in shock and disbelief that it is REAALLLY me typing away this message! took my nclex-rn dec. 9, i tried the "trick" and the exact message i got was 'our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. please contact your member board for further assistance. another registration cannot be made at this time.. has anybody here actually got the same message but failed?

CONGRTULATIONS to you... Just wondering how many page/s did the letter have stating that you passed? already took NCLEX 2x (also applied the Ca BRN) but failed and there were about 3 pages so the envelope was kinda thick...I took it again last Dec. 9 but this time I am just curious on whether i could tell without even opening up the envelope. i am just nervous to ACTUALLY open it so just want to feel it first...

Hi! I have taken my NCLEX-RN last month but unfortunately failed it. I noticed that most of the questions thrown at me were priority questions. Does anybody have any idea whether this type of questions come from the pool of higher level of difficulty questions? Do you have any strategies on answering priority questions aside from using Maslow, ABC's, nursing plan as these did not really help a lot in choosing the right answer...I've memorized these strategies in my head & have tried to use them on these questions but the answer choices mostly did not consist of them. Do you have to consider the ages of each person when they have all undergone some kind of surgery & all within the same day. what other factors should be considered? dazed & confused

hi, bt europe! will you please be kind enough to share more information about Suzanne's Plan? I just don't wanna do the same things I did the first time I prepared for the NCLEX as obviously, I have missed out on a lot of things that might have contributed to my failure. I have encountered a lot of priority questions, I don't have any idea whether those belong to higher level of difficulty or not. I remembered the strategies I learned from Kaplan book about answering priority questions like Maslow, ABC, nursing plan but when you are taking the actual exam, it seemed those strategies don't apply. The answer choices were all so familiar that you could easily get lost trying to find out the correct one. I really want to try Suzanne's plan & hopefully pass my NCLEX this time, i just don't wanna regret not having done something that obviously has helped a lot of people to succeed. Does anybody have some tips or strategies for taking the NCLEX-RN the second time? It really is frustrating to study all over again so this time I joined this forum hoping to get some advice from people who actually succeeded in their NCLEX. I have been out of nursing for more than 10 years but this time I just want to give it another try. I need all the help I can get... I read something about Suzanne's plan & felt really bad that I didn't come across it before I took my test March '09...it seems it was a lot of help to a lot of people so I hope to find some information about it since she has stepped down. Thanks in advance for any feedback!
