  1. You CAN and WILL pass this test. I agree with all the above posts. Get a plan, start anew and tell yourself "I got this":)
  2. The trick worked for me- one hour after the test, 24 hours after, 48 hours after and then my name was listed on the board of nursing!
  3. Sorry it has taken me so long to post, 4th semester is pretty time consuming. Let's see, I took sociology, government, and psych in the weekend classes. You can also get comp 1 and comp 2 out of the way in the same semester if you take them in the 8 week classes. First 8 weeks is 1 and the second is 2. The nursing program is 4 semesters once you start. Also I noticed that you have to take intermediate algebra, they offer this in the 8 weeks classes as well. Hope this helps!
  4. OSU-OKC is a great school!!! You might consider it as well (not to complicate your decision any more) I love it there!!!!
  5. OSU also offers some of your pre reqs in classes that you can do over 3 weekends. It works like this: class meets for 3 weekends Fridays eve 5-10 Sat 8-5 or 6 and Sun (cant remember if its half a day or all day) but after three weekends you are done and receive 3 credit hours!!!!! It is fantastic. I worked part time and have four children while doing it. I am finishing up OSU's nursing program this semester and can assure you that your determination will pay off. Good Luck to you and you can't go wrong with OSU's program, wonderful instructors and great support system. I'm very proud to say I'm from OSU's nursing program.
  6. Hey, I just finished the 2nd semester of an ADN program. I want to take EMT-B with third semester but I am unsure what to expect. Has anyone taken emt-b and nursing classes at the same time? How'd it turn out? DO you advise it? Thanks
  7. I am in my first semester of NS. I was a stay at home mom for YEARS and now I am finishing what I started at 18. I am 34 with 4 kiddos.
  8. I feel so relieved now, NEUROGEEK. I have been checking this post everyday to see if you got in. NOW I can relax (lol). WAY TO GO!!!!!
  9. My SIL works labor and delivery and has since she went to work there. My sister is in every unit drawing blood and she has had no problems in the year that she has worked there. I just don't think one can go wrong working there. Any more questions, just let me know
  10. Thanks for posting
  11. Hey, I haven't worked there myself but my sister-in-law is a charge nurse there, my brother is a med tech in the lab and my sister works as a lab assistant. All three of these people have worked at other hospitals and all three LOVE Norman Regional. My sister-in -law has been there prob. 5 years or more and always has great things to say about working there. They seem to be more than happy with working there and I never hear them talk of going anywhere else. If you have any specific questions, I can ask them and get back to you.
  12. Thanks OKCHUG Anybody else????
  13. Does anybody know anything about the "nurse partner" positions at OU Medical Center? What is like? What exactly are the responsibilities? Were you happy with the decision to work in this capacity? Any other info would be great.
  14. Just wanted to say good luck to all of you going through interviews over the next couple of weeks!!!!!! Good luck and God bless
  15. I am also 34 and will start a RN program in Jan!!!! Looks like 34 is the magic number for a lot of us. Good luck and God bless!
  16. Me too!!!! me too!!!!!:monkeydance: Pm me for my email and double thanks!
  17. I understand. I recently went back to school and I have 4 kiddos. I have always been an excellent student, so anything less than an "A" just seemed to be unacceptable. Let me share with you what I have come to realize- " I am doing the best I can at this point in my life. My grades may not reflect what I am totally capable of, but reflect what I am capable of...working part-time, taxing kids, carrying a full load, being homeroom mom, soccer coach, 4H horse show leader, house cleaner etc..... I keep reminding myself that school can not be a sole focus but a piece of my focus. So you see, to complete all your school and home duties, mom duties and wife duties and still come out in the high 80's seems pretty remarkable to me.
  18. Have you considered a phlebotomy course? I worked in a hospital lab Friday evenings 6-12 and Sat and Sun 12-12. 30 hours a week and still had Monday-Friday(till 5 or so) for school. It is a course usually offered at a vo-tech. The experience you gain will help out in nursing school as well. Just something to think about.

Hi Everybody, Thanks so much for all the advice. You have all given me a lot to think about. We do not have wait lists here. Every semester one must reapply and the top points attain the seats. I have a 3.9 GPA so while I feel like I could earn a seat, I have no guarantee. I do believe that it would be shorter to wait to get in the BSN program but I just can not get over the "no guarantee" fact. I will continue to think about all the advice here while I am making my decision. Thanks Again.

Greetings all, I have recently been acccepted into an ADN program. I have almost all of my pre-reqs for the BSN. So my questions is, should I accept the ADN position or finish up my pre-reqs and apply for the BSN program? I would start the ADN in Jan 08 and god willing the BSN in Jan 09. Would I be a fool for gambling with the guaranteed seat?
  21. I am also 34. I am married with 4 kiddos(12,9,7,5) I am glad to hear that I will not be the only one!!! Thanks for all the info on UCO. I am going on Thursday to talk. Now, I just need to decide BSN or ADN. Thanks again for posting.
  22. Thanks for answering. I am trying to decide between UCO's BSN program and OSU-OKC's ADN program. No I have not applied yet and will not be able to do so until Oct of 08. I have applied to OSU and have a good chance of getting in. I am a little concerned about going to UCO because of my age. Is it mainly 18-20's ? Is acceptance pretty competitive? Have you been happy with the program? What hospitals are used for clinicals? and really anything else you care to add Thanks for posting
  23. Hey, Is anybody currently in UCO's nursing program? Would love to hear about it.
  24. First let me put in a disclaimer"the information you read here could be wrong" lol TCU does not have an online program. The way that I understand it is that all students are required to spend the first 4 months at TCU's campus and then they have a few locations around the US that for the following eight months students can watch classes as they occur over a television feed. But you still must attend class! If anybody else knows different, please correct me
  25. Greetings, Has anybody gone through or are currently in the process of utilizing TCU's distance option? Has it been a good experience? Oklahoma does not have a CRNA school and so far this is the only option I have found in Oklahoma. Thanks
