  1. as nursing student nearing graduation was in OB rotation doc on ordered 25 mg of STADOL--teacher had drilled never give more than 4mg --- asked twice-doc screamed "I said 25mg STADOL"--did not do..went to RN--she came in to doc and touched her arm and made eye contact and very quietly said "do you really want 25mg Stadol" doc looked dazed and replied "I said 25mg demerol" we left RN gave ordered demerol. I learned a great lesson that day that I have used since--quieter voice gets attention.
  2. am afraid for job--they would find out it was me and office mngr would fire!! im scared--population under 3000 no other jobs in field closer than 2 hours-- can you report anonymously---or is there protection for reporting??? I report to chief of staff every time I see it.
  3. to foster care at 16--mom alcoholic--traveled all over for 4-5 years then pregnant and married alcoholic--5 years later divorced with one kiddo-lots of therapy then nursing seemed like a way to support kiddo and continue to try and "fix" people --now know just need to help people am good listener--short and sweet
  4. Tazzi--she never asks anyone to watch--already has them in syringes and then asks you to shoot. (Wouldn't change my mind though) Several of you say is a trust issue--she also hands out samples, changes meds etc. without dr's order-don't trust her any farther than I could throw her--can only hope doc's stop her now.
  5. took them for 6 years--worked great--allergists in our area do not allow out of their or clinic office setting--(even when I was one mixing individual serums--mine refused) hard to manage but worth every drop.
  6. MATH that was the worst--out of school for 15 years--but managed to make 2nd in class--go for it if you want it then own it!!!!
  7. WOW thanks so much for all the input!!!!!!! never dreamed so many out there. the situation is in a clinic setting where one nurse (who happens to be best friends with the office manager) will draw up ABX, immunizations anything and-----then ask for others to shoot some of them so patient gets all at once instead of multiple sticks. says this is better for the patient with less trauma. i feel is very dangerous and always refuse. so....boss says not team player. thanks for validating my belief that all i have at the end of the day are my ethics and my name and sticking to what we were taught.
  8. been doing it a long time and will not bend--learned you draw what you shoot and only shoot what you have drawn! have pressure to shoot what others draw up--still refusing!!!! Where do I find this guideline to show to "powers in charge"????? Have looked all over tx board website it's my license at stake(they don't have one) or my job HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
