Help!Any Pinoy nurses in Australia?
Yes you dont have to apply to ANMC if you are not going to submit your General Skilled Migration application. http://www.anmc.org.au/international/index.php International Section The International Section of the Australian Nursing & Midwifery Council (ANMC) is an assessing authority for the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC). The ANMC conducts an assessment of Registered Nurses and Midwives who intend to migrate to Australia under the General Skilled Migration category. The ANMC has been authorised by DIAC to undertake these assessments. Through this process the ANMC determines whether nurses and midwives are suitable for migration or whether they may need to undertake further education in order to be eligible for migration in the stated skill category.

Filipina nurse wins top U-S award
A Filipino-American has been named one of the Best Nurse Leaders of the United States by winning the 2006 ADVANCE for Nurses Journal's Best Nurse Leader award. Los Angeles-based senior nurse Lily Maniquiz is the nurse manager of the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System's Nursing Home Care Unit 213-2. Vital to Lara's winning was the successful implementation of a program that she created for the reduction of patient fall incidents. This program has been adopted as model for other fall prevention programs. "I was challenged by my senior leadership team to address the increasing patient fall incidents in our unit. What I did was, together with my multi-disciplinary staff, implement specific changes that became a four-pronged approach to reduce patient falls," Lara said. http://goodnewspilipinas.com/docs/we_are_pinoys/archived/lily_maniquiz.html

To Filipino Nurses in NEW ZEALAND? Have questions please..
http://www.nzno.org.nz/Site/General/Overseas_nurses_beware.aspx Overseas Nurses – Be Careful! The international shortage of nurses is resulting in many more nurses coming to New Zealand via international immigration agencies. But with the growth in this type of nurse migration, NZNO has concerns about the practices of some agencies. This advice sheet has been prepared by NZNO after we became aware of Filipino nurses coming to New Zealand and experiencing exploitative employment and immigration practices. Recruitment Agencies Some international agencies charge exorbitant rates to complete the necessary immigration and registration requirements. Other dubious practices by immigration agencies are withholding personal documents including passports; pressuring nurses to sign up for hire purchase agreements soon after arrival; arranging deductions from wages; and fostering excessive dependency of nurses on immigration agents for accommodation and childcare.

http://www.nursingcouncil.org.nz/Standards%20for%20Comp%20Assessment%20programmes%20May%202005.pdf http://www.nznurses.co.nz/ Answer - 1) I have no info regarding the changes in IELTS requirement. Present Approved English language assessments are: - Academic International English Language Testing System ("IELTS") with a score of at least 7.0 in reading, listening, writing and speaking respectively. Answer - 2) Nursing schools in New Zealand is not in any connected to any of your agency. You can research on where do you want to live and which School is offering CAP. Answer - 3) Timeline is not written in stone, but if assuming everything goes well and all your funds for enrollment is prepared, probably 2 to 3 months maximum of 6 months. Answer - 4) Based on other nurses experience and from what I have read here and on other forums concerning nursing in new zealand, it would be the nursing council that will decide on a case to case basis. Answer - 5) Have your agency submitted your application form to the nursing council? Have you signed and filled up the application form? Please check the link above. Try emailing them for specific answer to your case. I tried emailing them when I asked for the application package and they reply fast. Cheers and have a nice day. "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find..."
